This is a high-ownership newsroom role. Fast-moving. Format-shaping. Agenda-setting.What You’ll Do• Pitch and develop accountability stories (politics, corporate power, gender and social justice, governance) • Turn breaking moments into sharp, high-retention videos • Craft platform-native headlines, hooks and captions • Collaborate with editors, audience and video team for maximum impact • Ensure rigour such as verification, fact-checking, right-of-reply • Spot emerging narratives and steer editorial directionWhat You Bring• Strong newsroom instincts and editorial judgement • 2 - 5 years daily news experience • Solid research and reporting chops • Deep familiarity with short-form video and platform-native storytelling • Ability to write razor-sharp scripts fast • Good communication skills • Intuitive understanding of internet and Gen Z culture • Strong time management and organisational skills • Problem-solving mindsetBonus: • Experience in early-stage startups • Basic video editing skillsThis Role Has Real UpsideWe’re not hiring for years of experience.
