About the Role :The client is building the next generation of AI interfaces beyond phone touchscreens—hardware and software that will redefine how people interact with everyday apps, services, and AI assistants. They are looking for aPatent Writerwho will play a key role in transforming innovative concepts into well-structured, high-quality patent applications. This role requires working closely with the R&D team to translate product drawings, schematics, and technical descriptions into clear, precise, and strategically strong patent documentation. It is critical in helping secure intellectual property protections in highly competitive technology markets, particularly consumer electronics.Key ResponsibilitiesDraft comprehensive patent applications based on R&D inputs such as sketches, schematics, and technical notes. Conduct background research to ensure patents are developed with awareness of industry standards and innovations. Translate complex technical concepts into accessible, legally sound patent claims. Collaborate closely with engineers to extract key differentiators from inventions. Ensure patent applications meet requirements for submission in the U.S. (and potentially other jurisdictions). Track pending applications, coordinate with legal partners, and support further documentation or responses to examinations as needed.RequirementsBachelor’s or higher degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related technical field. Proven experience in patent drafting; familiarity with consumer electronics patents strongly preferred. Understanding of patent structures, including claims, abstracts, and detailed descriptions. Strong written communication skills with the ability to transform incomplete ideas into robust legal documentation. Up-to-date knowledge of trends and innovations in consumer electronics.
