Technical Author/Writer – Communication Equipment

Job Summary: We are seeking experienced Technical Authors/Writers to support documentation efforts for communication equipment across various client locations. The ideal candidate will possess strong domain knowledge in communication systems and demonstrate expertise in technical writing, documentation tools, and technologies. Location : Multiple Sites Across India (North, South, Central, East, West) Must be ready to reallocate Notice Period: Immediate to 60 Days Key Responsibilities: Develop, edit, and maintain a wide range of high-quality technical documentation for: - Radio Sets (HF / VHF / FM Manpack, Vehicle Radio) - Tactical Communication Systems (SDR, CNR, Satellite Phones) - Satellite Communication Systems (VSAT, Mobile SATCOM) - Command & Control Systems (BMS, Tactical Data Links, Encryption Devices, Surveillance & Reconnaissance Communication, UAV Systems, GCS, RVTs) - Electronic Warfare Communication (Jamming, COMINT) - Network Infrastructure (Deployable Nodes, Tactical Switches) - Navigation & Positioning Systems (GPS, Vehicle/Personnel Navigation) - Specialized Equipment (Underwater, Special Forces, Mountain Warfare) Collaborate with engineering and product teams to gather technical information. Translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation. Ensure compliance with client standards and international documentation norms. Required Qualifications: First Class BE/BTech/ME/MTech/MCA/MSc in Engineering or Science disciplines Minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience in technical writing for science/technology projects in government or private sectors Essential: Certification in Technical Writing from a reputed institute Desirable: Diploma in Technical Writing Skills & Competencies: Strong domain knowledge of communication equipment Understanding of user requirements and operational environments Proficiency in technical writing tools and software Ability to write for international clients with clarity and precision Basic graphic and web design skills for visual documentation Tool Expertise: Operating Systems: Windows, Linux/Unix, Ubuntu Office Suites: MS Office, OpenOffice, LibreOffice, LaTeX Project Management: MS Project or equivalent Design Tools: AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CorelDRAW Other: APIs, Encryption Tools, Tactical Software Platforms Good to have skills: Should have experience in preparing the following documents: System Engineering Management Plan Project Management Plan Quality Management Plan Data Management Plan Certification of Conformance Software/Hardware Documentation Preliminary and Critical Reports Configuration Documents Mission Documents Progress Reports Criticality and Reliability Analysis Trial Plans, Procedures, Failure & Closure Reports Spare Parts List and Bill of Materials (BOM) Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) Quality Assurance Plan (QAP) Acceptance Test Procedure (ATP) Qualification Test Procedure (QTP) Test/Specification Plans Inspection, Repair & Maintenance Plans Processing and Manufacturing Methods User Handbooks and Operator Manuals Troubleshooting Guides Assembly/Disassembly Sequences Calibration Plans Special Maintenance Tools & Test Equipment Transfer of Technology (ToT) Documents Risk Management Plans System Safety Assessments Hazard Analysis Reports Project/Technology Related Documents Policy and Guideline Documents
