Job Summary: The Production merchandiser will be responsible for ensuring the smooth coordination of garment production, quality control, and delivery. This role involves overseeing process enhancements, performance monitoring, and coordinating with teams to ensure operational excellence. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES Product Development: Source and select appropriate fabrics, trims, and accessories. Coordinate with Production Manager to develop samples including fabric selection, construction, fit, and quality. Review and approve samples, ensuring they meet design specifications and quality standards. Planning and Scheduling: Develop yearly and monthly production plan with time lines based on order requirements, capacity, and lead times. Plan and allocate resources, including materials and labor. Ensure materials and resources are available for production, monitor production progress, and proactively address any issues or delays to meet delivery deadlines. Vendor Management: Identify and select suppliers and manufacturers. Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with vendors. Ensure consistent quality and timely delivery of fabric and trims. Costing and Budgeting: Prepare cost estimates for products, including materials, labor, and overhead. Manage budgets and track expenses to ensure production costs stay within budget. Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality. Collaborate with the finance department and suppliers to negotiate pricing, terms, and discounts, ensuring profitability and cost efficiency in the merchandising process. Quality Control: Establish quality standards and guidelines for production. Conduct inspections and quality checks at various stages of production. Work with production team to implement corrective actions. Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods. Ensure timely replenishment of materials to avoid production delays. Manage stock levels to minimize excess inventory and reduce costs. Production Coordination: Coordinate with various production departments, including production, and logistics. Ensure smooth communication and workflow between teams. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of production activities, including orders, deliveries, and inspections. Prepare regular reports on production status, costs, and quality. SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS - Educational Background: A degree in textile engineering, fashion merchandising, or a related field will be preferred. Experience: More than 5 years of experience. Technical Skills: Knowledge of textile and garment manufacturing processes. Knowledge in using production management software and tools. Pricing and profitability analysis, Analyze pricing structures, cost components, and profit margins to determine optimal pricing strategies for key accounts. Soft Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational and time-management abilities. Problem-solving skills and attention to detail Analytical Skills: Ability to analyss production data and make informed decisions.
