Job Title: Plant Head (Li-ion Battery Pack Assembly)Location: South IndiaReports To: CXOPosition OverviewThe Plant Head will be responsible for establishing and leading a state-of-the-art 10 GWh lithium-ion battery pack assembly facility, driving operational excellence, ensuring safety, and delivering high-quality output aligned with business objectives. This is a strategic and hands-on leadership role involving end-to-end ownership of plant setup, commissioning, production operations, workforce development, and continuous improvement.Key Responsibilities1️⃣ Plant Setup & Commissioning- Lead the setup of the greenfield Li-ion battery pack assembly facility from concept to full-scale production. - Define plant layout, equipment selection, installation, automation requirements, and production workflow design. - Ensure adherence to project timelines, cost objectives, compliance, and quality standards. - Collaborate with Engineering, Supply Chain, EHS, Quality, and Technology teams for seamless commissioning.2️⃣ Manufacturing Operations – 10 GWh Output- Oversee full-scale production operations delivering MWh and GWh level containerized battery energy storage solutions. - Define and manage KPIs for productivity, yield, safety, delivery, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE). - Ensure strict compliance with global standards for battery performance, traceability, and EV/BESS industry norms. - Drive digital manufacturing implementation including MES, automation, and data-driven decision-making.3️⃣ Leadership & People Management- Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing workforce including experienced senior engineers, supervisors, and technicians. - Establish a strong culture of safety, operational discipline, continuous improvement, and accountability. - Enable talent development and succession planning to support rapid business scale-up.4️⃣ Supply Chain & Inventory Management- Work closely with SCM to ensure availability of critical components including cells, modules, BMS, enclosures, and raw materials. - Optimize inventory planning, vendor performance, and logistics efficiency for uninterrupted operations.5️⃣ Quality, Safety & Regulatory Compliance- Implement world-class Quality Management Systems (ISO/TS standards). - Ensure best-in-class EHS practices tailored to Li-ion battery handling, storage, and manufacturing. - Ensure plant operations comply with national and international regulatory requirements.6️⃣ Cost & Performance Optimization- Drive operational excellence initiatives such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S, and continuous improvement projects. - Monitor plant budget, cost drivers, and ensure profitability and productivity targets are met.Required Qualifications & Experience- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Industrial Engineering or related discipline. - Minimum 18–25 years of experience, with at least 5+ years in Li-ion battery pack manufacturing or advanced energy storage systems. - Direct involvement in large-scale manufacturing setup and ramp-up in EV/BESS sectors. - Strong expertise in MWh and GWh level production, containerized BESS solutions, and advanced automation systems. - Proven capacity to lead large teams and collaborate across global supply chain and technology environments.Preferred Attributes- Entrepreneurial mindset with strong ownership and execution capability. - Excellent stakeholder management and commercial acumen. - Strong problem-solving skills, agility, and ability to thrive in a rapidly scaling environment. - Passion for clean energy and sustainability.
