Since 2017, our Global Risk Technology collaboration has expanded from a small specialist team into a global capability supporting their enterprise risk platforms.As part of our long-term strategic initiative, we are investing in building a young, dynamic, and high-performing talent hub in India - strengthening the future-facing foundation of our partnership and supporting the bank’s global technology strategy. With the Global Risk remit continuing to grow across international branches, we are now scaling the team further and hiring an Application Support Engineer to support their Global Market Risk function.Roles and ResponsibilitiesAs an L2 Application Support Engineer, you will ensure the stability, accuracy, and performance of the Global Risk Platform (GRP) used across the bank’s Market Risk function. You’ll act as a key link between Risk, Front Office, and Technology teams, providing high-quality support and driving continuous improvements.Provide daily technical and functional support, ensuring system stability and uptime.Troubleshoot issues related to risk calculations, batch processes, and regulatory reports (FRTB, VaR).Support risk workflows, maintaining accuracy of internal risk measurement and control processes.Monitor system performance, investigate incidents, and drive timely resolution with global teams.Perform environment checks, validate risk outputs, ensure smooth end-of-day and intraday processing.Coordinate and execute enhancements, releases, patches, and UAT activities.Maintain documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures for supported components.Collaborate with business stakeholders to analyse issues and deliver improvements.Identify opportunities for automation and optimisation within support processes.Provide regular status updates, escalate critical issues, and maintain strong communication with onsite/offshore teams.Key SkillsThe ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise and a proven track record in supporting critical financial systems.Necessary4-7 years in L2 application or production support, with specific exposure to market risk systems.Proficiency in Snowflake for data management and analytics.Strong programming skills in Python (preferred) and Shell scripting.Advanced knowledge of Unix/Linux environments.Expertise in MongoDB for database querying and optimizationHands-on experience with Grafana for monitoring and Jira for issue tracking.Familiarity with ITIL processes (incident, problem, and change management).Deep understanding of market risk concepts and financial systems.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.Admin or access management experience in Cloud Technology (Azure, AWS, or GCP).DesirableExperience in the financial services industry.Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.Next stepsThis is a strong opportunity for an Application Support Engineer who thrives in fast-paced, business-critical environments and wants to play a key role in the stability and evolution of a global Market Risk platform.
