Lead IOT Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilledLead Software Engineerwith deep expertise inAWS IoT backend developmentto design and deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing IoT solutions. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in architecting and implementing AWS IoT solutions, along with the leadership potential to grow into a managerial role.This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to define IoT software architecture, drive technical excellence, manage delivery timelines, and mentor engineers—while contributing strategically to the growth of IoT capabilities.Key ResponsibilitiesIoT Solution Design & Development Architect and implement end-to-end IoT solutions, focusing ondevice connectivity, data ingestion, processing, and analytics(software-focused; not hardware/PCB). Develop robust backend services usingAWS IoT Core, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, AWS Greengrass , and frameworks such asAWS CDKandServerless Framework . Optimize cloud and edge computing strategies forcost-effective, high-performance data processing . Security & Standards Implement IoTsecurity best practices , including encryption, authentication, and data privacy. Ensurescalability, reliability, and performanceby defining and enforcing software development standards. Leadership & Team Collaboration Lead technical discussions and mentor junior engineers. Guide cross-functional teams in resolving technical challenges. Collaborate with product management, engineering, and operations to ensure seamless IoT integration. Demonstratemanagerial potentialby influencing strategic decisions and supporting team growth. End to End Delivery Own and manage theend-to-end software development lifecycle —from requirements gathering to production rollout. Provideaccurate planning, effort estimation, and schedulingfor project deliverables. Ensure timely delivery of milestones, risk mitigation, and stakeholder communication throughout the lifecycle. Applyagile methodologiesto manage sprints, track progress, and drive iterative improvements. Innovation & Optimization Stay current withindustry trends and emerging IoT technologies . Conductproof-of-concept (PoC)projects to evaluate new frameworks or services and integrate them into production solutions. Client & Stakeholder Engagement Work directly with internal and external stakeholders to align IoT software solutions with business objectives. Effectively communicate complex technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders. Skills & Qualifications Technical Skills (Mandatory) Proven expertise inAWS IoT backend development and cloud integration : IoT Core, Lambda, DynamoDB, AWS Greengrass, Serverless Frameworks. Strong knowledge of IoT protocols:MQTT, HTTPS, Matter . Experience withlarge-scale OTA deployments ,real-time analytics , andedge computing . Proficiency in programming languages:JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, and Python . Solid understanding of networking technologies:Wi-Fi and Bluetooth . Familiarity withIoT security frameworksandcompliance standards . Leadership, Project Management & Communication Strong team leadership, mentorship, and collaboration skills. Experience inproject planning, effort estimation, and full-cycle delivery . Proven ability to work cross-functionally and drive decision-making in complex product environments. Excellent communication and presentation skills for stakeholder engagement.Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree inComputer Science, Electrical Engineering , or a related field. AWS Certifications : Solutions Architect, IoT Specialty (preferred). Experience withserverless architecturesandmicroservices .
