Job Description (JD) – Senior System Engineer - Threat Management Product (Grade 4) Position Title: Senior System Engineer - Threat Management Product Department: Product Engineering / Cybersecurity Reports To: Product Engineering Manager / Cybersecurity Lead Location: Gurugram Supervises: NA Job Summary: We are looking for a Senior Systems Engineer who will lead deployment architecture, system integration, and deep troubleshooting for our Threat Management / Security product. This role is critical in ensuring scalable, secure, and high-availability deployments across customer environments (on-prem, cloud, hybrid). The candidate will act as a technical authority, bridging product engineering, DevOps, security, and customer deployment teams. Key Responsibilities: Deployment Architecture & Design: o Design end-to-end deployment architectures for threat management products (SIEM / SOAR / NDR / UEBA / SOC tools). o Define scalable, secure, and fault-tolerant architectures for: On-premise, Cloud (AWS / Azure / GCP), Hybrid environments. o Create reference architectures, sizing guides, and deployment blueprints. o Review customer infrastructure and recommend optimal deployment models. Product Deployment & Integration: o Lead complex product deployments at customer sites. o Integrate the product with: Log sources (firewalls, endpoints, servers, cloud services) o Identity systems (AD, LDAP, IAM) o Network devices, databases, APIs. o Support custom integrations and connectors where required. Deep Troubleshooting & Root Cause Analysis: o Perform L3/L4 level troubleshooting for Performance bottlenecks , Data ingestion failures, Correlation / detection issues, Distributed system failures, o Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for production incidents. o Ensure products adhere to industry standards for identity management (e.g., OAuth, OpenID). o Debug issues across: OS (Linux), Network, Containers, Application and database layers, o Work closely with Product Engineering to identify and fix product defects. System & Platform Management: o Strong ownership of: Linux systems (RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS) o Containers (Docker, Kubernetes). o Databases (Elastic, PostgreSQL, MySQL, NoSQL). o Tune system performance for: o High log volume, Real-time threat detection o Ensure high availability, backup, and disaster recovery strategies. Security & Compliance : o Ensure deployments follow security best practices: Hardening, Network segmentation, Certificate management, Secure communication. o Assist in meeting compliance requirements (ISO 27001, SOC, CERT-In, etc.). o Conduct deployment security reviews and audits. Documentation and Compliance: o Create and maintain: Deployment guides, Architecture diagrams, SOPs and runbooks. o Provide technical training to deployment, NOC, SOC, and support teams. o Act as a technical mentor for junior systems engineers. Cross-Functional Collaboration: o Conduct training sessions for developers on secure coding practices and threat awareness. o Work with: Product Managers (requirements, feasibility), Developers (bug fixes, enhancements), DevOps (CI/CD, release engineering), Support & SOC teams. o Provide feedback to improve product stability, scalability, and deployability. o Share insights on emerging threats and security technologies with the engineering team. Skills and Qualifications: o Strong understanding of secure software development lifecycles (SSDLC). o Strong expertise in Linux system administration. o Deep understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, routing, firewalls, load balancers). o Hands-on experience with: SIEM / Threat Management / Cybersecurity products, Log ingestion pipelines, Distributed systems. o Containers & orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes . o Databases: Elasticsearch / OpenSearch (preferred), Relational & NoSQL databases, o Scripting: Bash / Python (automation & troubleshooting) o Expertise in application-level threat detection and vulnerability management. o Experience with IAM (Identity and Access Management) solutions in software products. o Familiarity with risk assessment methodologies tailored to product development. o Proficiency in programming or scripting (e.g., Python, Java, or similar). o Knowledge of DevSecOps tools and practices (e.g., SonarQube, Snyk, GitLab CI/CD security). o Strong collaboration and communication skills for cross-functional teamwork.
