Role SummaryThe Design Coordinator is responsible for coordinating between various design disciplines, ensuring timely delivery of drawings, resolving design conflicts, and supporting project execution by aligning design intent with on-site requirements. The role ensures compliance with project timelines, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities1. Design CoordinationCoordinate with architectural, structural, MEP, and other design consultants. Ensure timely submission and review of drawings across all disciplines. Identify and resolve design clashes, discrepancies, and inconsistencies. Ensure issuance of GFC (Good for Construction) drawings as per project schedule. 2. Drawing Review & Quality ControlReview drawings for constructability and practical execution. Suggest value engineering options to optimize cost and efficiency. Ensure all drawings comply with local regulations and project standards. 3. Project Interface ManagementAct as a link between consultants, site team, PMC, and management. Conduct regular coordination meetings and track action items. Issue MOMs (Minutes of Meeting) and ensure follow-ups are closed. 4. Planning SupportAlign design deliverables with project timelines. Support planning team in integrating design milestones into schedules. Track delays in design submissions and escalate as required. 5. Execution SupportProvide design clarifications to the site team during execution. Assist in resolving on-site issues related to drawings and specifications. Support preparation of as-built drawings and final documentation. 6. Documentation & ComplianceMaintain proper records of drawings, revisions, and approvals. Ensure documentation is updated and shared with relevant stakeholders. Support statutory approvals and compliance documentation. Software & ToolsAutoCAD (mandatory) Revit / BIM (preferred) MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint Project tools (MS Project / Primavera – optional) QualificationB.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering / Architecture Experience5–8 years of relevant experience Experience in residential/commercial projects preferred Key SkillsStrong coordination and communication skills Understanding of construction drawings and sequencing Problem-solving and analytical thinking Attention to detail Ability to handle multiple stakeholders
