Role : Associate Architect - Database Specialist (SQL/Oracle)Experience : 7-13 YearsLocation : Mumbai/BangaloreKey ResponsibilitiesLead end-to-end Oracle/SQL server database migration from on-prem (including Exadata) to AWS platforms such as Amazon RDS, EC2, and Aurora PostgreSQL-compatible environmentsEnsure transaction continuity, CDC-based replication, and minimal downtime cutoversPerform Oracle database performance tuning, indexing strategies, and query optimization prior to migrationDesign and execute schema conversion and validation strategies (Oracle to PostgreSQL/MySQL where applicable)Leverage AWS DMS and SCT for full load and continuous replication migrationsWork with ODI pipelines and existing ETL workflows, ensuring compatibility or modernization on AWS (Glue/EMR)Design and implement secure, highly available database architectures on AWSBuild and optimize data pipelines using AWS Glue, PySpark, or EMRManage S3-based data lakes and metadata using Glue Data CatalogCollaborate with application, infrastructure, and analytics teams for smooth migration and post-migration stabilizationImplement data validation, reconciliation, and rollback mechanismsEnsure compliance with security, governance, and regulatory standards (GDPR, HIPAA, etc.) Must Have:7+ years of experience in database administration and migration (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL).Strong hands-on experience with Oracle databases, including Exadata environmentsExperience with Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) and legacy ETL workflowsProven expertise in Oracle performance tuning, partitioning, indexing, and transaction managementExperience with Oracle migration tools (Data Pump, RMAN, GoldenGate - preferred)Experience migrating Oracle, SQL Server, and MySQL databases to AWS (RDS, EC2, Aurora)Hands-on with AWS DMS and SCT for full load and CDC replicationStrong experience in database administration (HA, DR, backup/restore, schema conversion)Experience building pipelines using AWS Glue, PySpark, or Spark on EMRStrong experience with S3-based data lakes and Glue Data CatalogStrong SQL, Python/Pyspark, and shell scriptingNice to Have:Experience with Aurora Global Database and cross-region replicationFamiliarity with Oracle GoldenGate for real-time replicationKnowledge of Data Mesh architecture and cross-account data sharing in AWSExperience with Redshift, Lake Formation, and modern data warehousingExposure to CI/CD pipelines for database and ETL deployments (CodePipeline, Jenkins)AWS certifications (Solutions Architect Associate / Data Engineer Associate)Experience mentoring teams and driving knowledge transfer sessionsExperience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform / CloudFormation)
