You will build a career that you are proud of, at a company you can believe in.Application Administrator – Enterprise Platforms & Operations.Join Ferguson’s Enterprise Technology organization as an Application Administrator, where you will play a critical role in the operational support, stability, and continuous improvement of enterprise business applications and platforms that enable core business capabilities.In this role, you will be responsible for administering, supporting, and operating complex enterprise applications across production and non-production environments. Perform application configuration, maintenance, upgrades, and patching in alignment with change management and release processes. Monitor application health, performance, and availability using logging, alerting, and observability tools. Serve as a primary operational contact for supported applications, ensuring stability and reliability in a 24x7 enterprise environment. Troubleshoot and resolve application incidents, including issues related to performance, integrations, access, and data flow. Perform root cause analysis for recurring issues and partner with engineering, infrastructure, and vendors to implement long-term fixes. Manage application access, roles, and permissions in accordance with security, audit, and compliance requirements. Support application integrations and data interfaces, coordinating with upstream and downstream platform owners as needed. Participate in release planning and deployment activities, validating operational readiness and post deployment stability. Maintain accurate technical and operational documentation, including support procedures, configuration details, and runbooks. Proactively identify operational risks, technical debt, and improvement opportunities to enhance reliability, performance, and supportability. Collaborate closely with software engineering, infrastructure, security, data, and business partners to ensure successful application operations.Participate as an active member of a 24x7 rotational on-call support team for business-critical enterprise applications. Respond to alerts and incidents outside of standard business hours in accordance with established service level expectations. Perform initial triage, investigation, and mitigation to restore service safely and efficiently. Escalate appropriately while maintaining ownership through incident resolution. Document incidents, resolutions, and corrective actions in incident management systems. Actively contribute to post incident reviews and continuous improvement initiatives. Demonstrate strong accountability for application stability, customer impact, and operational excellence.Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on professional experience. Strong experience supporting and administering enterprise business applications in a production environment. Working knowledge of application architectures, including multitier systems, integrations, and data flows.Experience with cloud-hosted and/or on-premises application platforms and environments.Experience with Azure, Cloud Platform services such as Cosmos DB, PowerShell, Logic App, Application Insights, Azure Monitor, Azure Functions, Azure Web App. Experience with programming language , Angular. Familiarity with tools such as Query Surge, Qlik Replicate, Container Apps, Terraform, GitHub.Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools used for application operations. Experience with incident management, problem management, and change management processes. Understanding of identity, access management, and security best practices for enterprise applications. Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with the ability to work effectively under production support pressure. Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with both technical and nontechnical partners.Strong sense of ownership and accountability for application stability and operational outcomes. Comfortable working independently in complex, fast paced production environments. Proactive in identifying risks, operational gaps, and improvement opportunities.
