The Global Markets IT teams operate globally (Paris, London, New York, Tokyo, Singapore, Hong Kong and India) and collaborate on design, development, production support, QA and project management.Role PurposeThe VP‑Technical Lead will be embedded in the globally distributed Clearing LD Stream. You will drive the design, development, and optimisation of software solutions that support clearing activities, working closely with Agile Scrum teams across multiple time zones to deliver secure, high‑performance, scalable applications.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign & ArchitectureReview existing designs, identify bottlenecks and propose scalable, high‑performance alternatives.Lead architectural discussions and define the vision together with business and technology stakeholders.Conduct gap‑analysis and design modernisation road‑maps (e.g., migration to micro‑services, event‑driven patterns).Development & DeliveryFull‑stack development (UI, middleware, services/API, backend) using Java 8+ (Spring/Spring‑Boot), Angular 14+, Kafka‑based event‑driven architecture and Oracle PL/SQL.Apply cutting‑edge Generative‑AI tools throughout the SDLC to optimise design, coding and rollout.Perform performance benchmarking and tuning (Dynatrace, JMeter, etc.).Ensure adherence to DevSecOps pipelines (Bitbucket, Jenkins, Artifactory, Sonar, Fortify, NexusIQ, Ansible).Quality & Best PracticesChampion Test‑Driven Development (TDD), code reviews, and automated testing (JUnit, Mockito, etc.).Define and enforce coding standards, design‑pattern usage and documentation guidelines.Mentor a small technical team; onboard and train members on target technologies.Collaboration & CommunicationWork seamlessly with geographically dispersed Agile squads, providing technical guidance and resolving blockers.Communicate architecture decisions and progress to team leads and senior management.Qualifications & ExperienceMinimum 15 years of IT experience (software design, development, and delivery).Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience).Prior experience in clearing, settlement or related capital‑markets domains is a plus.
