Job Description:
CompileCrew is an AI-first product and engineering studio that builds high-velocity, high-impact systems for small and medium sized businesses. Our team works across deep operational domains — dispatch engines, real-time marketplaces, algorithmic systems, payment systems, geospatial infrastructure, and next-generation compliance workflows.Your primary customer initially will be Flywheel, a US-based transportation technology company rebuilding regulated taxi infrastructure across major cities. The role will later expand into other AI-native platforms we build. We’re looking for a senior backend engineer with strong Go expertise who thrives in fast-moving environments, picks up new tools instantly, and uses AI to multiply velocity by 10x–100x.This is not for average engineers. This is for builders who want to operate at the edge of product + engineering + AI.What You Will Do:Backend Ownership (Primary)Design, build, and maintain Go-based microservices powering real-time, high reliability systems.Work across marketplace primitives:Supply–demand matchingDispatch & routing workflowsDriver onboarding, verification & compliance pipelinesPricing, settlement, reconciliationReal-time telemetry ingestion (driver positions, statuses, events)Payments and financial flowsMulti-tenant fleet management systemsArchitect systems for low-latency, high throughput, zero-downtime deployments.Collaborate with product teams to translate ambiguous requirements into clean systems.Full-stack Capability (Secondary)Work on internal/customer facing dashboards, control centers, and tooling using React.js / Next.js / Vue.js.Ship fast, functional UIs that empower operations, support, and fleet partners.AI-Native EngineeringUse Cursor, Windsurf, Copilot, Antigravity, GitHub Code Search to accelerate coding, debugging, test generation, grooming, and refactoring.Drive an engineering culture where repetitive work is automated and engineers operate at 10x velocity.End-to-End OwnershipArchitecture → implementation → testing → deployment → monitoring → iteration.Write clean Go code with clear abstraction boundaries.Debug complex distributed issues across logs, metrics, traces, and event streams.Improve engineering velocity, reliability, and system clarity.Core Technical Requirements:Must-HaveStrong proficiency in Go (Golang) — concurrency patterns, goroutines, channels, sync primitives, memory model.Experience building and scaling marketplace or logistics platforms at companies like Uber, Lyft, Ola, Zepto, Swiggy, DoorDash, Dunzo, Meesho, or similar.Deep understanding of:Distributed systems designEvent-driven systemsReal-time state machines (driver lifecycle, order lifecycle, dispatch lifecycle)Caching strategies (Redis, in-memory caches)REST + gRPC service designFault tolerance, retries, timeouts, backoff patternsStrong data-modeling fundamentals across SQL databases (PostgreSQL preferred).Additional Technical Expectations1. Infrastructure & DevOpsDocker & containerized environmentsKubernetes or ECSCI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, CircleCI)Infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Pulumi is a bonus)2. ObservabilityPrometheus / Grafana / OpenTelemetryMetrics, traces, structured loggingIncident debugging + SLO ownership3. Messaging & StreamsKafka / Google PubSub / NATSDesigning idempotent consumersEvent sourcing patterns (nice to have)4. Geospatial & Routing (Nice-to-Have but Relevant)Working with maps, ETA models, geofencingH3/geohash gridsReal-time distance/time calculations5. Systems ThinkingRate limiting and throttlingMulti-region scaling strategiesHorizontal service decomposition6. Security and ComplianceAPI authentication patternsLeast-privilege data accessAuditing and regulatory data retention(Especially relevant because Flywheel operates in regulated markets.)You’ll Succeed Here If You Are:A Go expert who writes clean, elegant, battle-tested backend services.AI-native — you treat AI as a force multiplier, not a novelty.A builder who likes ambiguity, takes ownership, and moves fast.Low-ego, highly collaborative, and motivated by the pursuit of mastery.Obsessed with reliability, correctness, and predictable system behavior.Able to work across backend, frontend, architecture, infra, and ops.Excited by hard engineering problems in mobility + marketplaces.Years of experience don’t matter. Output, clarity, and capability do.Nice-to-Have Experience:Prior experience in transportation, dispatch, delivery, logistics, fintech, or other high-ops domains.Built systems involving:driver scoring modelscompliance pipelinespayments/settlementsregulated-data workflowsReal-time marketplacesWorked in early-stage startup environments.
