Job Description:
Role OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Model Governance Specialist with 6–9 years of experience to support SS1/23 remediation activities, aligned with Model Risk Management (MRM) principles for banks. The role will focus primarily on strengthening and remediating model documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory expectations and internal governance standards.The successful candidate will have strong familiarity with pricing models, end-to-end model lifecycle governance, and regulatory model risk frameworks within a banking environment.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and support SS1/23 remediation initiatives, with a strong emphasis on documentation uplift and gap remediationReview, enhance, and standardise model documentation, including:Model methodology documentsModel development and validation artefactsAssumptions, limitations, and usage documentationEnsure alignment of model governance practices with SS1/23 – Model Risk Management PrinciplesWork closely with:Model developersModel validation teamsRisk and compliance stakeholdersSupport governance across the model lifecycle, including:Model inventory managementModel approval and change controlPeriodic reviews and revalidation readinessAssess existing pricing models for governance gaps and recommend remediation actionsPrepare materials for internal governance forums and regulatory reviewsEnsure documentation meets regulatory scrutiny and audit standardsRequired Skills & ExperienceStrong experience in Model Governance / Model Risk Management within bankingHands-on experience with SS1/23 or equivalent regulatory frameworksStrong familiarity of pricing models (e.g. interest rate, valuation, product pricing models etc)Proven experience remediating model documentation to regulatory standardsKnowledge of model lifecycle governance, including development, validation, approval, and monitoringExperience working with regulatory expectations, audits, or supervisory reviewsAbility to translate technical model concepts into clear, regulator-ready documentationPreferred / Nice-to-HavePrior involvement in regulatory remediation programmesBackground in quantitative risk, finance, or analytics (hands-on modelling not mandatory)Familiarity with internal bank model governance frameworks and policiesStakeholder exposure: Risk, Quant, Finance, Compliance, Audit
