About The RolePlan, direct, organize or coordinate resources necessary to assure Target supply chain ethically delivers safe and quality owned brand products to guests throughout the product’s lifecycle, in a systematic approach.Effectively measure, monitor and report on the qualitative aspects of a specified tangible or non-tangible output to drive supply quality excellence. Oversee a team of quality engineers engaged in quality activities throughout product’s life cycle.Lead or participate global QMS projects & regional continuous improvement projects to drive excellence of product/supply quality. Principle Duties and Responsibilities:Key Competency ExpectationProduct and technical knowledgeAbility to understand different product categories, guest expectation and brand expressionDeep understanding of manufacturing processes with the ability to identify and mitigate riskAbility to de-construct diverse and ever evolving manufacturing processesUnderstand process management - able to determine the critical processes to quality and its controls to prevent or mitigate potential issues/risksKnowledge of tools from Lean/Six Sigma/ TOC/SPC to assess matrix performance and drive actionLead and guide teams to support factory elevation through technical expertise and continuous improvement initiatives Quality Strategy and Management Understand and able to assess the effectiveness of a factory’s preventive QMS and its sustainability against varying manufacturing processesPlan for quality through preventive product risk mitigation, factory capability assessment and capacity validation prior to production.Strategic overview of the factory matrix in order to prioritize and identify areas of opportunity to drive elevationUnderstand and lead the team in quality management concept & tools for oversight of field operationsEvaluate the health of the matrix: through quality principles, assessment and elevation of vendors and factories QMS.Brand Management and Guest ExpectationsUnderstand the guest expectation through voice of the guest always guiding the team through this lens. Ensure field operations leverage product standards, specification, approval samples and testing requirement/protocols to oversee and train 3rd parties and TM’s.Coach team to understand brand strategies, business priorities and brand expression to make the right decision timely focused on the guest.Data, Reporting, Analytics and KPI’sLead team to analyze factory capability, quality and production performance to hold vendor accountable in supply chain elevation.Leverage data to identify opportunities for calibration, continuous improvement and problem solvingExtensive use of quantifiable data and KPIs in decision-making.Drive cost of poor quality reduction with a focus on greater efficiency and right first time qualityCommunication/CFT CollaborationLead holistic and strategic communication interaction points across teams. Sharing strategy and vision with CF leaders for alignment.Enhance factory on boarding to capitalize on business opportunities & needs.Collaborates with Sourcing on appropriate vendor/factory selection, business placement based on product risk, factory capabilities & capacity. External: Vendor/Factory/ Local 3rd Parties About YouMinimum RequirementsBachelor degree in engineeringTechnical disciplines equivalent in retail complianceQuality management, raw material, product or manufacturing experience/knowledgeMinimum 10 8-9 years’ experience in industryMinimum 4 years in supervisory/management capacity with similar operational scope and complexityExperience with a US or European based corporationIn depth knowledge of US regulatory and safety requirements Excellent leadership/interpersonal skillsExcellent communication skills in English and local languageStrategic thinking and ability to plan, lead, organize and executeResult orientated, self-motivated, dedicated, enthusiastic and energeticCommitted to continuous learningAbility to travel locally and internationallyFamiliar with data and analytics including Microsoft Windows and Office software applicationsAbility to use Analytical or scientific software in the work.Desired RequirementsExperience in retail purchasing operations.
