EPS – Column & I-shaft

Primary Responsibilities Project customer requirements into BOM, drawings, specifications, DFMEA etc. Design and develop steering column products that adhere to industry best practices and as per customer requirements. Design the steering column product keeping manufacturing and cost competitiveness balance. Review & release the Child parts, Sub-Assembly & Saleable assembly design Collaborate with the Quality, Manufacturing, and Procurement teams to ensure that designs meet requirements. Mitigate the potential risks via design upgrade through cross functional team including customer, internal team members and suppliers. Lead problem solving / root cause analysis. Develop and maintain DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis) for all released products. Clear understanding on Validation requirement of any steering column and plan for Internal and customer specific ADVP. In-depth knowledge of current steering column technology and understand the future trends Enhancing the current system design with new technology and based on future OEM requirements. Fair knowledge of CAD and CAE tools Ensure seamless communication and documentation between all stakeholders. Develop and maintain comprehensive design documentation throughout the product lifecycle. Leverage knowledge of local supplier bases and competitor product landscapes to inform design decisions. Manage SOR / DV builds / Proto samples / Component and Product level testing requirements Change management /MAPP / Deviation protocol to be followed Knowledge of GD&T, Tolerance Stack up & Fits calculations
