Decision Scientist

Job Title: Decision ScientistJob Summary: Develop cutting edge solutions, in the form of reusable IP assets, leveraging deep science and AI/ML to solve high impact business problems that serve Tesco's strategic goals.In this job, I’m accountable for:- Participating in connects with business & functional partners to understand the ground level business context- Developing and applying an understanding of the required AI/ML models, statistics techniques and analytical tools to develop robust solutions that solve high impact problems- Writing structured, modularized & codified algorithms using Continuous Improvement principles (development of knowledge assets and reusable modules on GitHub, Wiki, etc.)- Taking ownership of assigned tasks and adhering to company policies and team ways of working- Working autonomously in an agile manner towards thorough and timely completion of defined tasks, while maintaining a high quality of delivery, to achieve expected outcomes- Effectively communicating the work done with peers as well as to market partners- Working closely with the manager to ensure that the solution is developed with consumption in mind- Keeping up-to-date with the latest in AI/ML and retail analytics concepts and disseminating the knowledge among colleagues- Working in collaboration with the team and actively contributing to team discussionsExperience relevant for this job:- 1 - 3 years' work experience (or equivalent research experience) in AI/ML development in Retail or CPG preferred- Functional experience: Marketing, Supply Chain, Customer, Merchandising, Operations, Finance or Digital- Preferred: Master's degree in Computer Science, AI, or a related technical field Skills : SQL , Python, Machine learningOperational skills relevant for this job:- Math/Statistics: Foundational proficiency in Statistical methods and Hypothesis testing.- AI/ML: Hands-on experience in 2-3 AI/ML techniques and applications: Clustering, Regression, Classification, Time series forecasting, Optimization, Recommendation Engine, etc.- Programming: Strong skills in SQL, Python.- Research and Development: Experience in researching and developing AI/ML solutions.- Soft Skills: Analytical thinking, Problem-solving
