SENIOR GHG EMISSIONS and DECARBONISATION ANALYST

Auroville Consulting is seeking a Senior GHG Emissions and Decarbonisation Analyst to lead climate mitigation and net-zero projects in Tamil Nadu and other regions of India.Please read this posting carefully till the end before applying.Applications submitted via Easy Apply will not be vetted unless all additional requested information is provided.This is a senior, leadership-oriented role requiring a minimum of 5 years of hands-on professional experience in GHG emissions accounting and decarbonisation advisory. The role is not suitable for fresh graduates or candidates with less than 5 years of relevant experience.The position is full-time and onsite, based at our Auroville office, and involves regular, close engagement with internal project teams, government counterparts, and industry stakeholders.Applicants should be currently based in Tamil Nadu or Puducherry, or already in the process of relocating to the Auroville region.Professional working proficiency in Tamil and full professional proficiency in English are essential for this role.Key Responsibilities- Lead the design and delivery of GHG inventories and reporting systems (corporate and city level). - Develop and quality-assure decarbonisation strategies, net-zero pathways, and sectoral roadmaps. - Oversee data analysis and scenario modelling, ensuring methodological rigour and clear, actionable recommendations. - Mentor and coordinate project teams, manage work plans, and ensure timely, high-quality outputs. - Provide advisory support and training to government bodies, industry, and financial institutions on GHG mitigation and carbon market opportunities. - Represent Auroville Consulting in external forums, working groups, and stakeholder consultations on climate and decarbonisation.Profile and Application- Candidates should have 5+ years of professional experience in GHG emissions accounting, decarbonisation advisory, or closely related fields, with demonstrated responsibility for leading projects and mentoring junior team members. - Strong familiarity with the GHG Protocol, carbon disclosure frameworks, and sector-specific baselines (energy, industry, land use) is required. Experience working within the Indian policy and regulatory context, and engaging with government agencies, public institutions, industries, or financial institutions, is essential. - The role is onsite and may require occasional travel for stakeholder engagement.
