OverviewA globally operating organisation is seeking a Senior Employment Counsel to support a wide range of employment law matters across the APAC region.This role requires a commercially minded legal professional who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, international environment and can independently manage complex employment law issues across multiple jurisdictions. The position involves close collaboration with internal stakeholders and external clients, with a strong focus on practical, solution-oriented legal advice.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide clear, pragmatic employment law advice across multiple APAC jurisdictionsDraft, review, and negotiate employment agreements, separation agreements, and related documentationAdvise on the full employee lifecycle, including hiring, benefits, workplace policies, disciplinary matters, terminations, and restructuringSupport onboarding and offboarding processes by identifying jurisdiction-specific employment risks and compliance requirementsMonitor legal developments across jurisdictions and proactively communicate relevant updates to stakeholdersIndependently manage complex and sensitive legal matters in a timely mannerCollaborate with cross-functional teams including HR, operations, compliance, and client-facing functionsEngage and coordinate with external counsel on litigation or specialised matters when requiredContribute to internal knowledge sharing, training initiatives, and continuous process improvementsDeliver work within defined service levels and turnaround expectations in a high-volume environmentRequirementsQualified lawyer with a valid licence to practise in an APAC jurisdictionMinimum 4+ years’ experience specialising in employment lawDemonstrated experience in a client-facing legal roleExperience in both private practice and in-house environments preferredStrong experience drafting and negotiating employment-related documentationAbility to manage legal matters independently and efficientlyExposure to multiple jurisdictions or a strong willingness and ability to learn quicklyExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsComfortable working in a remote, international environment with time zone collaborationPreferred BackgroundExperience working within HR services, Employer of Record (EOR), payroll, PEO, global mobility, HR technology, workforce consulting, compliance advisory, or other multi-jurisdictional people-focused environmentsExperience supporting multinational or globally distributed organisationsExposure to APAC employment law frameworks beyond home jurisdictionExperience working with or managing external counsel on employment mattersWorking EnvironmentFully remote role with flexible working arrangementsCollaboration across multiple time zones (occasional early or late meetings required)Fast-paced, high-responsibility environment with strong emphasis on responsiveness and deliveryWhat This Role OffersExposure to complex, multi-jurisdictional employment law mattersHigh level of autonomy and ownership in day-to-day workOpportunity to develop expertise across international marketsCollaborative, globally distributed working environmentA challenging and dynamic role with strong professional growth potential
