Java Web Developer

MetBrains is a global EdTech platform and it is expanding its presence in India, and we are looking for skilled Java Developer who want to be part of a fast-growing, impact-driven organization.About the RoleWe are looking for a Java Developer who can design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-quality backend applications for MetBrains’ learning platform. The role involves working closely with product managers, frontend developers, and cross-functional teams to build reliable systems that enhance learner engagement, mentor effectiveness, and overall platform performance.Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, test, and maintain backend applications using Java • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following best practices • Build and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services • Collaborate with frontend, product, and DevOps teams to deliver robust solutions • Participate in system design, architecture discussions, and code reviews • Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability • Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve application and production issues • Ensure application security, data protection, and coding standards • Work with databases and optimize queries (SQL/NoSQL) • Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes and tools • Stay updated with the latest Java technologies and industry trendsWhat We Are Looking For • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field • Strong experience with Java and backend development • Hands-on experience with frameworks such as Spring, Spring Boot, or Hibernate • Good understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures, and system design • Experience with REST API development and integration • Familiarity with databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar) • Experience with version control systems (Git) • Understanding of microservices architecture is a plus • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills • Ability to work independently in a remote, global team environment • Interest in building products for education, learning, or mentorship-driven platformsWhat We Offer • Fully remote role across India • Opportunity to work with a global EdTech platform serving learners worldwide • Be part of MetBrains’ expansion and growth in India • Competitive compensation aligned with experience • Impact-driven work contributing directly to learner success • Supportive, collaborative, and growth-oriented work culture✨ Join MetBrains and help build scalable and reliable learning platforms using Java.
