JOB DESCRIPTIONJob Title: Manager – Labour ComplianceDepartment /Function: Human ResourcesPosition Type: Full-timeLocation: Saltlake, KolkataMode of Work: Work from the officeTravel: 5-7 working days in the quarter Position Summary: We are looking for a hands-on and detail-oriented Manager – Labour Compliance to drive end-to-end labour law / code compliance across locations and vendor operations in an IT services environment. This role will be responsible for ensuring statutory adherence, strengthening compliance governance, managing audits, and partnering with internal and external stakeholders to proactively identify and close compliance gaps pertaining to Labour Codes. The ideal candidate should have strong working knowledge of Indian labour laws, experience in multi-location operations, and the ability to independently manage compliance execution.Required Qualification & Experience: 1. Master’s degree in Law or Business Administration (with specialization in Human Resources).2. 10–12 years of hands-on experience in labour compliance, preferably in IT Services / ITES / BPM organizations.3. Strong knowledge of applicable labour laws including CLRA, Shops & Establishment, Minimum Wages, Payment of Wages, Bonus, Gratuity, PF, ESIC, and Contract Labour compliance.4. Experience in managing compliance for multiple locations and third-party vendor workforce.Hands-on experience in labour audits, statutory documentation, inspections, and closure of non-compliance observations.Desired Qualification & Experience: Degree / certification in Labour Laws, Industrial Relations, or Compliance Management Prior experience handling labour compliance in a fast-paced technology / IT services environmentExposure to compliance dashboards, automation tools, and HRMS / HCM platformsExperience in engaging with legal teams, consultants, and labour authoritiesAbility to support policy implementation and compliance awareness across teamsJob Competencies/Skills:Strong hands-on knowledge of Indian labour laws and statutory requirementsLabour Codes ImplementationExperience in vendor / contractor compliance management and document verificationAbility to drive audits, identify compliance gaps, and ensure timely closureStrong stakeholder management skills across HR, Legal, Finance, Admin, and Delivery teamsAbility to work independently, with high ownership and attention to detailGood analytical, documentation, and reporting skillsWorking knowledge of HRMS / HCM systems, Excel, and compliance trackersStrong written and verbal communication skillsJob Responsibilities:Ensure end-to-end compliance with applicable labour laws across locations, including regular review of statutory requirements, filings, registers, notices, and documentation.Lead implementation of new labour codes (Wages, Social Security, Industrial Relations, OSH); ensure readiness, policy alignment, vendor compliance and system/process changesDrive compliance governance for third-party vendors and contractors by reviewing PF, ESIC, wage, bonus, and other applicable records, and ensuring closure of gaps.Lead and support internal audits, external audits, and labour inspections; prepare responses, supporting documents, and action plans for closure.Track and monitor statutory timelines and compliance status through structured trackers and periodic dashboards.Partner with HR, Legal, Finance, Procurement, Admin, and Business / Delivery teams to ensure compliance risks are identified early and addressed in a timely manner.Engage with external consultants, legal advisors, and relevant authorities wherever required for interpretation and implementation support.Ensure labour law compliance for employees deployed at client locations, including vendor compliance, statutory adherence, and coordination with client stakeholders.Review existing processes and recommend stronger controls, standardization, and automation to improve compliance management across locations.Support policy implementation, awareness building, and internal guidance on labour compliance related matters.Maintain readiness for audits and ensure all compliance records are updated, accessible, and defensible.About Company: iMerit is a global enterprise in data enrichment and annotation, combines the technologies, processes and people that, together, deliver the enterprise level solutions to its esteemed clients consistently.
