Job Title: PF TPP (Operation – Desk Engineer) Location: Andhra Pradesh Cement Works (APCW), Tadipatri About the Role We are seeking a Power Plant Desk Engineer to manage shift‑based desk and field operations of boilers and turbines in a captive thermal power plant. The role focuses on safe, efficient, and uninterrupted power generation, optimization of plant performance parameters, strong safety ownership, and close coordination with field teams. Key Responsibilities • Execute desk operations and supervise field activities to ensure uninterrupted and quality power generation • Continuously monitor boiler and turbine parameters through DCS and take immediate corrective actions • Maintain operational log sheets, shift records, and performance data • Coordinate with field operators for smooth, safe, and efficient equipment operation • Optimize boiler performance by controlling excess air, minimizing losses, and improving efficiency • Optimize turbine operating parameters to reduce turbine heat rate and auxiliary power consumption • Handle emergency operational situations in consultation with Shift‑in‑Charge and operation engineers • Operate boilers on multiple fuel combinations (Lignite, Coal, Petcoke) while maintaining SOx, NOx & SPM within statutory emission limits • Monitor shift activities including housekeeping, standby equipment readiness, and abnormality reporting • Ensure all operator checklists and logs are filled and verified regularly • Conduct safety rounds, toolbox talks, and ensure adherence to safe work procedures • Report and investigate accidents, incidents, and near‑misses through the system • Drive SHE initiatives, energy conservation, and leakage prevention (water, oil, air) • Participate in WCM, ISO, IMS systems and continuous improvement initiatives • Submit Kaizen, OPL, Good‑to‑Fine suggestions and support model area development • Support audits, boiler inspection preparedness, and compliance to statutory and internal standards Required Qualifications • BE – Mechanical Engineering • Boiler Operation Engineer (BOE) Certificate – Mandatory Experience Required • 5–7 years of experience in Boiler & Turbine Operations • Hands‑on exposure to CFBC Boilers and Steam Turbines preferred • Experience in DCS‑based shift operations in thermal / captive power plants Key Skills & Competencies • Power Plant Desk & Field Operations • DCS‑based Shift Operations • Boiler & Turbine Efficiency Optimization • CFBC Boiler Operations • Fuel, Ash & Water Handling Systems • Emergency Handling & Safe Startup / Shutdown • Performance Data Monitoring & MIS • Safety, SHE & Statutory Compliance • Coordination & Team Communication
