Electrical Protection Engineer Onsite Mahout or MasirahSubstation Projects) Location:Mahout or Masirah ONSTIE Sector:Power Transmission & SubstationsAbout the RoleWe are seeking a qualifiedElectrical Protection Engineer (Level 2)to join our client’s substation engineering team. You will be responsible for thedesign, configuration, testing, and commissioningof advanced protection systems that safeguard high-voltage networks and ensure reliable power delivery. This position offers an excellent path for career progression towardsLevel 3 authorisationwithin a leading power engineering environment.Key Responsibilities Configure, test, and commissionadvanced protection relays(Siemens SIPROTEC, ABB Relion, SEL, Schneider MiCOM, or equivalent). Performrelay coordination studies , fault analysis, and protection settings calculations. Prepare and reviewschematics, SLDs, and logic diagramsfor substation protection systems. Carry outsecondary injection, end-to-end, and functional testsusing Omicron or Megger test sets. Supportenergisation and commissioningof substations and related HV assets. Ensure compliance withIEC 61850 , project protection philosophies, and client specifications.Requirements Level 2 authorisationin protection engineering ( mandatory ). Eligible forLevel 3 authorisationor progression pathway. Advanced configuration certificationwith at leasttwo approved relay manufacturers(e.g. Siemens, ABB, SEL, Schneider). Strong background inelectrical protection design, testing, and commissioning . Experience withHV substation projects (132 kV and above)preferred.
