We support teachers, school leaders, and education innovators through high-quality content, engagement, and collaborative learning.Role OverviewWe are looking for a proactive and design-orientedSocial Media Managerwho understands professional communication and can take full ownership of ideating, designing, and publishing consistent, high-quality content across platforms. This role requires a strong sense of aesthetic, a working knowledge of the edtech space, and an ability to stay current with evolving social media trends.This is not just an execution role we are seeking someone who can actively contribute creative direction, propose relevant content ideas, and be accountable for publishing outcomes.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and manage a weekly content calendar acrossLinkedIn, Instagram, and our internal app Research and proposesocial media concepts based on emerging trendsespecially within the education and edtech sectors Take ownership of content publishing and ensure consistency across all platforms Design static visuals usingCanva , based on both provided briefs and original ideas Draft post copy aligned with Urban School’s brand tone (professional, grounded, and community-centric) Monitor performance metrics such as impressions, saves, and engagement to inform future content Coordinate with the founder and internal teams to translate product updates or field insights into social content Handle minor video or reel editing tasks if needed (basic editing only)QualificationsDemonstrated experience managing professional social media pages Proficient in Canva, with a strong sense of visual clarity and layout (portfolio or samples preferred) Awareness ofsocial media metrics , trends, and best practices for audience engagement Ability to independently plan, execute, and improve content without micromanagement Excellent writing skills, with an understanding of tone and brevity for digital audiences Reliable, organized, and consistent in deliveryPreferred ExperienceExperience with EdTech, early-stage startups, or educator-facing brands Familiarity with tools like Notion, Buffer, Hootsuite, or other scheduling/collaboration tools Basic comfort with lightweight editing tools
