System Administrator

Title - System Administration Type - Contract Location - RemoteRoles and Responsibilities: - Monitor and administer AWS cloud infrastructure, including EC2 instances, S3 buckets, VPCs, RDS databases, and Lambda functions. - Develop and maintain high-availability and disaster recovery solutions, utilizing backup software such as Veeam, AWS Snapshots, Commvault, and Backup Exec. - Oversee automation scripts and tools for provisioning, configuration, and maintenance of cloud and on-premises resources. - Analyze system performance, identify trends, and implement improvements to ensure optimal resource utilization and cost efficiency. Utilize monitoring platforms like Datadog, Orion, Nagios, and WhatsUp Gold. - Implement security best practices and compliance standards to protect cloud environments. - Administer company SaaS platforms, ensuring user productivity with tools like Okta and AWS Workspaces. - Provide technical guidance and support to junior support tiers and act as an escalation resource for all technologies under the Platform Engineering umbrella.Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. - Minimum of 2 years of experience in implementing and managing AWS cloud solutions. - Minimum of 2 years of experience administering Okta. - AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional certification is highly preferred. - Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts and architectures, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS. - Proficiency in AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, Lambda, CloudFormation, and CloudWatch. - Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation. - Proven hands-on experience supporting the Okta SSO Platform. - Solid understanding of networking concepts and technologies, including TCP/IP, VPN, DNS, and routing. - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in cloud environments. - Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.Tools and Technologies: - AWS Cloud Services: EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, Lambda, CloudFormation, CloudWatch. - Backup Solutions: Veeam, AWS Snapshots, Commvault, Backup Exec. - Monitoring Platforms: Datadog, Orion, Nagios, WhatsUp Gold. - SaaS Platforms: Okta, AWS Workspaces. - Automation Tools: Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation.
