Job Title: Principal Kubernetes ArchitectRole SummaryThe Kubernetes Architect will serve as the technical authority for our container platforms. You will design and oversee the implementation of scalable, secure, and resilient Kubernetes environments (multi-cloud/hybrid). Your goal is to bridge the gap between high-level business requirements and low-level infrastructure execution, ensuring our platform enables developer velocity while maintaining enterprise-grade stability.+1Core ResponsibilitiesArchitectural Design: Lead the design of global Kubernetes clusters across AWS (EKS), GCP (GKE), and on-premise environments.Governance & Standards: Define /"Golden Paths/" for application deployment, including standardized Helm charts, GitOps workflows (ArgoCD/Flux), and RBAC policies.Security & Compliance: Implement Zero Trust networking using Service Meshes (Istio/Linkerd) and integrate automated security scanning (Trivy/Prisma Cloud) into the cluster lifecycle.Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Own the automation strategy for cluster provisioning using Terraform, OpenTofu, or Crossplane.Performance & Cost Optimization: Conduct capacity planning and implement FinOps practices to ensure efficient resource utilization and cluster autoscaling.Observability: Design a unified monitoring and logging strategy using Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry to ensure full stack visibility.Mentorship: Lead /"Community of Practice/" sessions to upskill DevOps and Application teams on cloud-native best practices.Technical RequirementsDeep K8s Expertise: Expert-level knowledge of Kubernetes internals (etcd, API Server, Kubelet, CNI, CSI).Containerization: Mastery of Docker/Containerd and OCI standards.Cloud Platforms: Extensive experience with at least two major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, or GCP).Automation: Proficiency in Go or Python for developing custom Kubernetes Operators or CRDs (Custom Resource Definitions).Networking: Strong understanding of Overlay networks, BGP, and Load Balancing (Ingress Controllers/Gateway API).GitOps: Hands-on experience with declarative continuous delivery tools like ArgoCD.Preferred Qualifications & CertificationsCKA (Certified Kubernetes Administrator) — RequiredCKS (Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist) — Highly PreferredCloud Solutions Architect (AWS/GCP/Azure Professional level)Experience with Service Mesh (Istio, Cilium) and Serverless Kubernetes (Knative).There is a high chance candidate will have to relocate to Kuala Lumpur for a year on the project.
