The Petroleum Engineer will be involved in evaluating well performance, designing drilling plans, optimizing recovery techniques, and ensuring that operations are safe, efficient, and cost-effective. The ideal candidate has a strong technical background, practical field experience, and familiarity with current technologies and industry standards.Analyze geological and engineering data to determine suitable drilling methods and identify economically viable reservoirs. Design drilling programs, select equipment, and oversee well drilling operations, ensuring compliance with environmental and safety regulations. Monitor and evaluate production data to improve recovery rates using enhanced oil recovery (EOR) techniques and other optimization strategies. Develop reservoir models, estimate reserves, and forecast production using simulation software and decline curve analysis. Plan and manage engineering projects, including budgets, schedules, and coordination with geoscientists, contractors, and other stakeholders. Prepare and present technical reports, feasibility studies, and cost analyses to management and regulatory bodies. Ensure compliance with HSE standards and best practices during field and office operations. Provide on-site technical guidance during drilling, testing, and production phases. Troubleshoot issues with equipment or processes. Apply new technologies (e.g., horizontal drilling, hydraulic fracturing, digital well monitoring) to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
