Quality Assurance Engineer

Role OverviewWe are looking for a hands-on QA professional who can own quality end-to-end — from test planning and execution to bug tracking, Jira discipline, and release readiness.This is not just a test execution role. We need someone who can:Think in terms of process, structure, and releasesTranslate product requirements into clear test cases and user storiesMaintain high discipline in JiraAct as a quality gatekeeper before every release and grow in this roleKey ResponsibilitiesQA Planning & ExecutionCreate QA strategy and test plans and scenarios for new features and releasesPerform manual testing (functional, regression, sanity)Ensure test coverage across web and mobile applicationsIdentify edge cases, workflow breaks, and data issuesBug ManagementLog clear, reproducible bugs in Jira with Steps to reproduce, expected and actual results and screenshots videos etcTrack bug lifecycle from open → fix → retest → closurePrioritize bugs with product & tech teams (critical / major / minor)Jira Discipline & Product StructuringMaintain clean Jira hygieneCreate and manage:EpicsUser storiesSub-tasksEnsure acceptance criteria are testable and unambiguousActively participate in sprint planning and retrospectivesRelease Management SupportCoordinate QA readiness for releasesValidate release scope against completed storiesEnsure planning for release daysPerform release sign-off from a QA perspectiveSupport hotfix validation when neededTeam Process EnablementResponsibly guide team members to follow defined QA processes and best practices, ensuring consistency, quality standards, and smooth collaboration across teams.Required Skills & Experience3–6+ years of experience in Manual QA / QA Lead roleStrong experience with Jira (non-negotiable)Experience writing:Test casesUser storiesAcceptance criteriaSolid understanding of SDLC & Agile/ScrumStrong analytical and documentation skillsExperience working closely with developers and product managersGood to Have (Bonus)Experience testing healthcare / fintech / regulated platformsExposure to API testing (Postman or similar)Basic understanding of automation concepts (not mandatory)Experience working with distributed teamsWhat We OfferOpportunity to work on a meaningful healthcare productOwnership and influence over product qualityCollaborative, mission-driven teamGrowth into a QA Lead / Quality Owner roleFollow @vCare Denmark and our CEO Khushboo Verma for more updates, insights and future job opportunities.
