Network Engineer

Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled and proactive Remote Network Engineer to design, implement, monitor, and support enterprise network infrastructure across distributed environments. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, and network security. This role requires excellent troubleshooting skills, remote infrastructure management expertise, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, SLA-driven environment.Key ResponsibilitiesConfigure, manage, and troubleshoot enterprise network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls, wireless controllers).Monitor network performance and ensure high availability and reliability.Implement and support LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, and VPN solutions.Configure and manage firewalls (Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, etc.).Troubleshoot routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP).Perform network capacity planning and performance optimization.Implement network security best practices and access control policies.Work with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP) including VPCs, NSGs, load balancers.Manage incident response, root cause analysis, and problem resolution.Support network automation initiatives using scripting (Python, PowerShell) where applicable.Maintain documentation including network diagrams, configurations, and SOPs.Collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors for escalations and project delivery.Required Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.4–10 years of hands-on experience in network engineering and support.Strong expertise in:TCP/IP, DNS, DHCPRouting & SwitchingVLANs, STP, ACLsVPN (IPSec, SSL VPN)Firewall configuration and managementExperience with enterprise networking vendors (Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, Aruba, Palo Alto).Experience with network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios, etc.).Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.Ability to support 24/7 rotational shifts if required.Preferred CertificationsCCNA / CCNPFortinet NSEPalo Alto PCNSEAWS / Azure Networking CertificationITIL CertificationKey CompetenciesStrong problem-solving skillsExcellent verbal and written communicationAbility to work independently in a remote environmentAttention to detail and documentation disciplineCustomer and SLA-driven mindset
