Analyst Intern – Macroeconomics, Public Policy & Sectoral Trends (India)ABHI Incubation FundLocation: Remote / Hybrid (India)Duration: 6 months (extendable)Stipend: Competitive | Performance-linkedAbout ABHI Incubation FundABHI Incubation Fund is an early-stage investment and research platform that integrates macroeconomic analysis, public policy insights, and sectoral research to identify long-term investment opportunities across startups and public markets in India.We are looking for an Analyst Intern who can not only conduct rigorous macro and policy research, but also convert deep research into clear, compelling content for investors, founders, and a broader informed audience.Role OverviewThe Analyst Intern will work closely with the Fund Manager to analyze India’s macroeconomic environment, public policy landscape, and demographic shifts, and translate these insights into:Sectoral and industry outlooksForecasts and thematic investment viewsPresentations, research notes, and public-facing contentThis role sits at the intersection of economics, investing, and communication.Key ResponsibilitiesMacroeconomic & Public Policy ResearchAnalyze India’s macroeconomic indicators: GDP growth, inflation, fiscal deficit, debt, interest rates, and balance of payments.Track Union and State budgets, fiscal policy, and public expenditure priorities.Monitor RBI policy actions and financial system developments.Evaluate regulatory and policy changes (SEBI, RBI, DPIIT, NITI Aayog, MeitY, India Stack, etc.).Sectoral, Demographic & Trend AnalysisApply macro and policy research to identify trends across Indian sectors and industries.Study the impact of rising per capita income, urbanization, and demographic transitions on consumption and industry structure.Identify emerging industries, sunrise sectors, and long-term growth themes.Build forward-looking sector outlooks and thematic frameworks.Forecasting & ModellingDevelop scenario-based forecasts for sectoral growth and industry evolution.Analyze demographic and income distribution data to assess medium- and long-term implications.Support macro and sectoral models with data-driven insights.Research-to-Content & CommunicationConvert comprehensive research into:Investor and internal presentationsConcise research notes and briefsEdit and structure complex economic analysis into clear, accessible narratives without losing analytical depth.Assist in building a consistent research and content pipeline aligned with the Fund’s investment philosophy.Investment & Strategy SupportTranslate macro and sectoral insights into investment-relevant conclusions for startups and public markets.Support preparation of investment theses, strategy decks, and policy-led opportunity notes.Required Skills & QualificationsEducationGraduate or Master’s student in Economics, Finance, Public Policy, Development Economics, or a related quantitative field.Strong grounding in macroeconomics, public finance, and economic theory.Technical SkillsStrong proficiency in Excel.Working knowledge of Python / R / STATA / EViews.Familiarity with Indian and global economic datasets (RBI, MOSPI, CMIE, SEBI, World Bank, IMF, etc.).Research, Writing & CommunicationExcellent writing and editing skills with the ability to simplify complex ideas.Experience (or strong interest) in content creation—blogs, research notes, newsletters, or social media posts.Ability to adapt tone and depth for investors, founders, and public audiences.What You Will GainExposure to India-focused macro, policy, and sectoral research at an investment fund.Hands-on experience in turning research into investable insights and high-quality content.Direct mentorship from the Fund Manager.Strong preparation for careers in investment research, economic advisory, policy research, think tanks, or financial content platforms.
