EHV GIS/AIS Substation Design EngineerLocation: Ahmedabad (On-site)Employment Type: Full-timeExperience Required: Minimum 2–3 YearsPlease note : Local Candidates will be given first preference.Role DescriptionWe are looking for a skilled EHV GIS/AIS Substation Design Engineer to join our engineering team at Ahmedabad. The role involves end-to-end design, review, estimation, and coordination for EHV substation projects. The candidate will work closely with internal teams, OEMs, suppliers, and clients to deliver technically sound and cost-effective power system solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and review Single Line Diagrams (SLD), substation layouts, and technical drawings for EHV GIS/AIS substations.Carry out design and system studies as per project requirements and applicable standards.Prepare and review Bill of Quantities (BOQ), BOMs, quantity take-offs, and cost estimations based on layouts, SLDs, and technical specifications.Understand client requirements and float inquiries to OEMs and suppliers for technical and commercial estimation.Perform technical evaluation and review of drawings, specifications, and BOMs received from manufacturers and suppliers to ensure compliance with client and project requirements.Coordinate closely with clients, suppliers, OEMs, and internal departments for technical clarifications, approvals, and project execution support.Assist in providing technical inputs for techno-commercial offers and tender submissions.Ensure designs comply with IS, IEC standards, safety norms, and industry best practices.Support cross-functional teams by proposing efficient and innovative solutions for power network systems.Job RequirementsStrong understanding of EHV substation equipment, configurations, layouts, SLDs, BOMs, and technical specifications.Working knowledge of IS & IEC standards applicable to substation equipment and systems.Experience in BOQ preparation, costing, and quantity estimation aligned with client specifications.Ability to interpret and review technical documents from OEMs and suppliers.Effective coordination and follow-up skills with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.Essential Experience & Skills2–3 years of hands-on experience in substation design, BOQ preparation, layouts, SLDs, and cost/quantity estimation for projects up to 33kV / 66kV / 220kV.Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Excel, and MS Word.Experience working with leading OEMs / MNC OEMs, including coordination with marketing, technical, and production teams.Strong communication skills in English, Hindi, and Gujarati (mandatory).Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.Proven understanding of electrical engineering practices, industry codes, and safety regulations.Prior experience in substation design or power systems engineering is mandatory.Local candidates preferred.How to ApplyInterested candidates may apply to this job on LinkedIn or send their updated resume to:
