MYP Teacher, Apeejay School International, Panchsheel ParkOpenings: (2) MYP English Facilitator and MYP Mathematics FacilitatorPosition OverviewThe IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) Teacher is responsible for creating and delivering engaging, inquiry-based lessons that align with the International Baccalaureate (IB) philosophy. The teacher will foster critical thinking, intercultural understanding, and personal growth in students while maintaining a supportive, collaborative, and inclusive classroom environment. The role includes developing and maintaining all subject-related MYP curricular documents, staying up to date with developments in the MYP framework and subject area, and leveraging modern technologies effectively in teaching and learning.Key Responsibilities1. Teaching and LearningPlan, prepare, and deliver inquiry-based and concept-driven lessons aligned with the IB MYP framework and the school’s curriculum. Develop and deliver units of inquiry, incorporating key concepts, related concepts, global contexts, and Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills. Promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and student agency through a variety of teaching strategies. Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment that aligns with the IB Learner Profile attributes.2. Curriculum Development and DocumentationDevelop, update, and maintain all subject-specific MYP curricular documents, including unit plans, scope and sequence, and assessment plans. Ensure all documentation aligns with the IB MYP framework and reflects current educational best practices. Regularly review and revise curriculum documents to incorporate feedback, reflect new developments in the IB MYP, and address the evolving needs of students.3. Assessment and FeedbackDesign and implement formative and summative assessments in alignment with IB MYP criteria and objectives. Use a variety of assessment tools and strategies to evaluate student progress and understanding. Provide timely, constructive, and personalized feedback to students and parents.4. Professional Development and Lifelong LearningStay up to date with developments in the MYP framework, subject-specific pedagogy, and educational technology. Engage in continuous professional development by participating in IB workshops, conferences, and training. Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and promote a culture of professional growth and learning.5. IB Programme ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain unit planners that align with the IB MYP guidelines and requirements. Incorporate IB Learner Profile attributes and Approaches to Learning (ATL) into teaching and assessment practices. Assist with preparations for IB evaluations and other school accreditation processes.6. Technology IntegrationLeverage modern technologies, including educational apps, platforms, and tools, to enhance teaching and learning. Use technology to develop engaging lessons, facilitate collaboration, and support differentiation.7. Pastoral Care and Student Well-beingAct as a homeroom or advisory teacher to support students’ academic, social, and emotional well-being. Build strong relationships with students, fostering trust and mutual respect.8. School Community and EventsParticipate in school-wide events, activities, and initiatives. Engage with parents and the wider school community to promote the IB MYP and foster a sense of partnership. Contribute to extracurricular activities, clubs, or committees as needed.Skills and Competencies1. A teaching certification or equivalent qualification is required. Experience:Minimum 2 years of teaching experience, preferably in an IB MYP setting. IB Experience:Prior experience teaching in an IB MYP school is preferred. Familiarity with the IB MYP framework, unit planning, and assessment criteria is essential.
