They strive to enhance the quality of life in the communities we serve.Position Overview:As an In-House Legal Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the company’s legal functions across a wide range of areas, including commercial law, litigation, regulatory compliance, M&A activities, and employment law. You will work closely with the in-house legal counsel to provide comprehensive legal assistance, ensuring the company operates within legal frameworks while minimising risks. This dynamic role requires strong organisational skills, legal acumen, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.Role Responsibilities - What you’ll be doing:Commercial and Business Law:Assist in the drafting, review, and negotiation of a wide variety of commercial contracts, including supply agreements, service contracts, and partnership agreements.Assist in the drafting, review, and negotiation of NDA documentsAssist in the negotiation and administrative works associated with new M&A activity or commercial negotiations.Advice on regulatory compliance and corporate governance matters with the assistance of the in-house counselSupport the development and implementation of company policies and procedures.Assist in the review, and negotiation of a wide range of construction contracts, NEC, JCT, and subcontract agreements.Advise on contract administration and management throughout the project lifecycle.Undertake legal research on issues and matters as directed by the in-house legal counselPrepare and review corporate documents, including board resolutions, minutes, and shareholder agreements.Liaise with our Head of H&S to compile reports relating to personal injury or property damage associated with site activities and coordinate with our insurers to manage risk and achieve the best outcomes for the company.Litigation:Assist in the management and administration of all aspects of litigation, including pre-litigation advice and managing counsel as required under the direction of the in-house legal counselRepresent the company in dispute resolution processes, including adjudication, mediation and arbitrationDevelop and implement litigation strategies to minimise risk and achieve favourable outcomes.Conduct legal research and analysis to support litigation and dispute resolution efforts.General Legal Support:Provide legal advice and support to various departments within the company.Conduct legal research and stay updated on relevant laws and regulations.Identify and mitigate legal risks associated with business operations.Train and educate staff on legal matters and regulatory compliance.M&A Transactions:Assist in all M&A transactions from inception to completion, including due diligence, structuring, negotiation, documentation, and integration.Draft, review, and negotiate transaction documents such as purchase agreements, joint venture agreements, and shareholders’ agreements under the direction of in-house legal counselCoordinate with internal stakeholders and external advisors to ensure successful execution of transactions.Conduct and oversee legal due diligence to identify and mitigate risksEmployment Law Legal Counsel and Advice:Liaise with our Head of HR and external HR advisors to help support on a wide range of employment law issues, including employee relations, contracts, terminations, discrimination, harassment, and workplace policies.Advise HR and management on employment law compliance and best practices under the direction of in-house counselSupport in the Drafting, review, and negotiation of employment contracts, severance agreements, and other employment-related documents.Ensure all employment documentation complies with relevant laws and regulations and aligns with company policies.Regulatory Compliance:Conduct legal research and stay updated on changes in employment laws and regulations.Requirements - What we’re looking for:Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) with 2+ years of experience in UK law.Proven expertise in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, including NDAs and construction agreements (NEC, JCT).Strong knowledge of corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and contract administration.Experience supporting M&A transactions, dispute resolution, and employment law matters.Excellent legal research, organizational, and communication skills.Work ScheduleAs the client is UK-based, you will be required to work in UK daytime:Monday to Friday13:30 - 22:30 IST (08:00 am - 17:00 GMT)Pay & Benefits - What you’ll get in return:Annual CTC: 10 to 15 lakhsDevice: Laptop providedFully remote roleBe part of a passionate, friendly and transparent culture which encourages your suggestions for improvement as we growFull training and ongoing supportAn unparalleled opportunity to be a team member of the UK’s largest mobile servicing, maintenance and repair business
