The Hair Specialist will combine deep scientific knowledge of hair biology, cosmetic chemistry, and formulation science to drive product performance, efficacy, and consumer satisfaction. This role bridges scientific research, technical formulation, and consumer insights, ensuring that all haircare innovations are both scientifically validated and market-relevant. Key Responsibilities: 1. Scientific Research & Technical Development · Conduct in-depth research on Personal care products, hair biology, scalp physiology, and fiber chemistry to support formulation design and product claims.· Lead the development of innovative haircare formulations (cleansing, conditioning, treatment, color, and styling)· Evaluate new active ingredients, raw materials, and technologies for potential inclusion in haircare products.· Design and execute laboratory experiments to assess formulation stability, sensory properties, and performance.· Support product claim substantiation through instrumental and clinical testing (e.g., tensile strength, shine, smoothness, manageability, scalp health). 2. Data & Performance Analysis · Analyze product performance data, instrumental measurements, and sensory testing results.· Use digital tools and analytical models to identify correlations between formulation parameters and hair performance outcomes.· Collaborate with lab team to interpret datasets for hair damage profiling or ingredient optimization. 3. Cross-Functional Collaboration · Partner with formulation chemists, product managers, marketing, and consumer insight teams to translate technical findings into strong product stories.· Support manufacturing scale-up by providing technical guidance on formulation processes and raw material handling.· Work closely with packaging and stability teams to ensure compatibility and product integrity. 4. Testing & Validation · Develop and standardize testing protocols for hair performance evaluations (instrumental and sensory).· Supervise internal and external testing (including salon trials and consumer panels).· Ensure compliance with cosmetic regulations and safety requirements. 5. Innovation & Trend Monitoring · Stay current with emerging technologies, scientific literature, and market trends in haircare, scalp health, and sustainable formulation. · Identify and propose new opportunities for product innovation, claim differentiation, and technical storytelling. Qualifications:-Education: Bachelor's/Master's in Cosmetic Science, Trichology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or a related scientific field. Experience: 5-8 years of experience in Personal care product R&D (shampoos, conditioners, moisturisers, sunscreen, treatments, colorants, or styling products). Proven expertise in personal care products, hair fiber analysis, scalp biology, or formulation chemistry. Hands-on experience with hair testing techniques (e.g., tensile strength, microscopy, colorimetric analysis, sensorial evaluation). Technical Skills:Strong understanding of pesonal care structure, hair structure and damage mechanisms.Knowledge of active ingredients, surfactants, polymers, conditioning agents, and their interactions with hair fiber.
