Job Description Assistant Lodge Manager – Luxury Lodge | Kruger National Park Kendrick Recruitment is seeking an experienced Assistant Lodge Manager for a luxury lodge located within the Kruger National Park. This position offers a negotiable salary depending on experience. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to creating an exceptional guest experience while supporting the Lodge Manager in all operational aspects. Key Responsibilities • Assist the Lodge Manager in the overall management of the lodge • Deliver exceptional guest relations and ensure a warm, personalised “at home” experience • Manage and train lodge staff in line with the lodge’s service standards • Maintain the highest housekeeping, maintenance, and gardening standards to preserve the lodge’s design and aesthetic • Oversee financial administration, including stock control and order management • Manage daily administration linked to concierge and reception operations • Maintain and update the guest database to support service excellence • Ensure guest areas and service spaces are kept clean, organised, and presentable • Uphold the quality and care of all lodge equipment and products • Communicate and actively support the lodge’s conservation vision and purpose • Perform additional tasks as required to support operational needs, with flexibility and teamwork being essential Skills and Experience Required • Minimum of 4 years’ work experience, ideally including 2 years as a trainee and experience in a reputable five-star lodge or hotel as an assistant manager • Strong Food and Beverage knowledge • Financial management competency • Passion for hospitality with a commitment to service excellence • Knowledge of dietary requirements and allergies • Strong attention to detail • Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal); an additional language is advantageous • Strong computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet) • Excellent management, leadership, and communication abilities • Cooperative, flexible, and able to embrace a developmental approach with staff • Ability to remain calm, resourceful, and solutions-driven under pressure • Understanding of basic labour law and disciplinary procedures • Strong organisational skills, assertiveness, and patience • South African citizenship or valid work visa Candidates who meet the above requirements are invited to submit their CV Requirements Experience
