Company DescriptionSOVO International School is Chandigarh Tricity’s first IB-curriculum school where children learn by doing—through play, inquiry, and real-world exploration, not rote instruction.Our approach integrates IB philosophy with play-based learning, Japanese principles of independence through responsibility, and Nordic emotional safety to nurture confident, curious, and capable young learners.Role DescriptionThis is a full-time, on-site role based in Sector 69, Mohali.You will work as a homeroom teacher/facilitator across Early Years (ages 2–6) and Primary Years (up to Grade 4), depending on experience and fit.You will act as a facilitator of learning, creating environments where children explore, question, and build understanding through hands-on experiences.Key Responsibilities• Design and facilitate play-based and inquiry-driven learning experiences aligned with IB philosophy• Create engaging environments where children build, explore, collaborate, and think independently• Observe and document learning through portfolios, learning stories, and ongoing assessments• Support children’s cognitive, emotional, social, and language development• Encourage student agency, curiosity, and confidence from an early age• Plan and deliver Units of Inquiry (for PYP) integrating multiple subject areas• Collaborate with specialists (music, art, PE) and the in-house child psychologist• Build strong relationships with parents and communicate learning progress regularly• Participate in collaborative planning, reflection, and IB training• Maintain a safe, inclusive, and emotionally supportive classroom environmentWho This Role Is For• Prefer facilitating over lecturing• Are comfortable with less structure and more exploration• Enjoy working with young children in dynamic, hands-on environments• Want to be part of a founding team building a school from scratchQualifications Essential• Bachelor’s degree in Education / Early Childhood / related field (Master’s preferred)• Minimum 1 year of experience in Early Years or Primary teaching• Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate pedagogy• Familiarity with inquiry-based or play-based learning approaches• Strong English communication skills• Ability to build warm, trusting relationships with children and parentsHighly Desirable• IB EYP / PYP experience or certification• Experience with Reggio Emilia, Montessori, or similar approaches• Understanding of concept-based and transdisciplinary learning• Experience with observational assessments and documentation• Strong collaboration and reflective practice skillsWhat We Offer• Fully sponsored IB training and certification• Opportunity to be part of the founding team with high growth potential• Small class sizes (low student-teacher ratios)• Thoughtfully designed learning environments (indoor + outdoor)• Collaborative, mission-driven culture• High quality of life in Chandigarh Tricity
