FAC - FACILITIES CHEMICAL ENGINEER(OPS & Maintenance) As a Site Facilities Engineer (Chemical & Slurry), you are responsible for the safe, reliable operation and maintenance of site Chemical and Slurry systems. You will actively participate in and lead site operations and maintenance teams, providing technical leadership, subject‑matter expertise, and hands‑on engineering support across day‑to‑day operations and capital projects. You will lead and support business process alignment for Chemical and Slurry systems across construction project design, project management, schedule coordination, cost control, testing and commissioning, and long‑term operations and maintenance programs for all manufacturing facilities within your assigned site or region. As a Site Engineer based at your assigned location, you will represent the site in driving facility design standard alignment, construction project execution, and Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Best Known Method (BKM) alignment initiatives, ensuring site needs are fully captured while maintaining compliance with corporate and network standards. You will work closely with Global Facilities Central Engineering, Construction, Line Planning, and O&M teams to ensure site requirements are clearly represented. This includes providing practical design feedback, supplier quality input, constructability reviews, and operational and maintenance considerations throughout all phases of project execution. The role requires active involvement in construction and expansion projects, including support for design reviews, standard alignment, supplier performance improvement, and testing and commissioning activities. You will ensure a smooth transition from construction to operations, enabling stable, reliable, and maintainable Chemical and Slurry system performance. You will also support continuous improvement efforts by identifying operational gaps, driving corrective actions, strengthening maintenance programs, and collaborating with internal stakeholders and system OEMs to improve system reliability, safety, and lifecycle performance, while maintaining alignment with corporate and network facility standards. Critical metrics include construction project management, schedule, cost control, safety index, and facilities system reliability improvement program in eliminating production events that minimize lost moves and scrap. Engineering support for site projects, Alpha to Beta technology transfer and sustainability projects Review and approve site capacity expansion and sustainability capex Review priority and make business driven decision on Facilities Reliability Improvement project capex Reliability Engineering support for site system improvement projects (System Reliability Improvements, Quality Improvement and Equipment EOL replacements) Oversee efforts and identify opportunities to align strategic program (eg BCP, Critical spec, Quality Defense line) Engineering Planning ,Review and Execute major SIPP . Events lesson learnt sharing and influence of global standards development Communication MSI Single point of contact for GFC Regional and GFC central teams Provide alignment on metrics reporting Engineering, O&M and Others Serve as the site subject-matter expert (SME) for Chemical and Slurry systems, providing strong technical leadership in system operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and reliability improvement . Provide day-to-day engineering support to site operations, maintenance, and construction teams to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant Chemical & Slurry system performance. Technically lead and support site cross‑functional teams (Facilities, Operations, Maintenance, EHS, Construction, OEMs) across design, installation, commissioning, and operational excellence activities. Support construction and expansion projects for Chemical and Slurry systems, including design reviews, constructability input, FAT/SAT participation, commissioning, and handover to operations. Provide on-site support during critical Chemical & Slurry system upsets or failures , including rapid troubleshooting, containment actions, and recovery support. Actively support and participate in FIPA / RCA investigations , identifying root causes, defining corrective and preventive actions, and driving closure with site stakeholders. Identify gaps in Defense Line 2 controls for Chemical and Slurry systems and drive corrective actions to strengthen system robustness and risk mitigation. Review and improve Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Predictive Maintenance strategies to ensure consistent, effective execution aligned with site and network expectations. Drive continuous improvement in Chemical and Slurry system performance through variation reduction, SPC monitoring, and reliability engineering methods . Develop, review, and maintain Best Known Methods (BKMs) , standard operating procedures, and maintenance practices to improve system reliability, safety, and maintainability. Conduct site assessments to evaluate Chemical and Slurry system health, maintenance effectiveness, and operational discipline; track and drive closure of identified gaps. Analyze and benchmark equipment and system performance , identifying opportunities for reliability improvement, optimization, and life‑cycle cost reduction. Support training and competency development , including identification of training needs, development of technical training materials, and support of certification programs for site personnel. Collaborate closely with OEMs and vendors to improve system design, address reliability issues, and implement design enhancements based on site operating experience. Review capital requests and scope changes related to Chemical and Slurry systems, providing technical justification, risk assessment, and value‑engineering recommendations. Identify and drive cost reduction and optimization opportunities without compromising safety, reliability, or compliance. Collaborate with GFAC Central, OCT, and regional teams to align site practices with network standards and share lessons learned across sites. Actively review Chemical & Slurry related site events , identify systemic gaps, and contribute lessons learned for broader network sharing. Support implementation and sustainment of TPM methodologies for Chemical and Slurry systems at the site. Provide 24/7 on‑call support and rapid response to site events, incidents, and system upsets to ensure safe and timely recovery.
