Experience: 8 - 20 years of experience in sourcing and vendor development, preferably inautomotive, EV, or Ancillaryindustries. Proven track record of leading supplier development and localization programs. Experience managing cross-functional teams and supplier networks in India and overseas. Skills: Strong negotiation and analytical skills. Deep understanding of EV components (motors, batteries, controllers, harnesses, etc.) and traditional mechanical parts. Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities. Knowledge of ERP systems and supplier performance management tools. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Cost savings & localization ratio achieved. Supplier quality and delivery performance. Vendor base development for new technologies. On-time sourcing support for NPD projects. Supplier performance improvement initiatives executed.Key Responsibilities: 1. Strategic Vendor Development Develop and implement sourcing strategies for critical components of electric vehicles (mechanical, Transmission, electrical, and electronic systems). Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers to ensure availability of quality parts at optimal cost. Lead localization initiatives to reduce import dependency and total cost of ownership. Build partnerships with innovative suppliers in the EV ecosystem. 2. Supplier Relationship & Performance Management Establish and maintain long-term strategic supplier relationships. Conduct regular supplier audits, performance reviews, and capability assessments. Ensure compliance with quality standards (ISO, TS, IATF, etc.). 3. Cost Optimization & Negotiations Drive cost reduction initiatives through value engineering, process improvements, and supplier consolidation. Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing for key parts and assemblies. Analyze market trends and implement best sourcing practices to improve cost competitiveness. 4. New Product Development (NPD) Support Collaborate with R&D, Engineering, and Production teams to source and develop components for new models. Ensure early supplier involvement in design and prototyping phases. Develop alternate sourcing strategies to mitigate risks during NPD. 5. Systems, Processes & Reporting Implement digital tools for supplier evaluation, cost tracking, and performance management. Define and monitor departmental KPIs (Cost, Quality, Delivery, Innovation, Sustainability). Report progress and challenges to senior management with data-backed insights.
