Job Title: Lead – Metallurgy (Lab)Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Metallurgy professional to lead and manage metallurgy operations in alignment with organizational objectives. The role is responsible for ensuring compliance with product and process requirements, driving continuous improvement in metallurgical laboratory operations, and providing strong technical leadership across manufacturing, quality, and supplier development activities. Key Responsibilities Lead and managemetallurgy operations and laboratory activitiesin line with organizational goals and quality standards. Ensurequality assurance of incoming raw materials, forgings, castings, and finished componentsthrough effective metallurgical evaluation and control. Develop and enhancemetallurgical testing and inspection capabilitiesto meet current and future business requirements. Drivesupplier development initiativesfor new products, alternate sourcing, and process improvements in line with organizational strategy. Ensure fullcompliance with quality systems, laboratory accreditations, and certifications . Support and leadNew Product Development (NPD)through metallurgical validation and technical inputs. Evaluatetechnical performance of oils, coolants, and solvents , providing continuous feedback to operations teams and approving authorities. Leadheat treatment furnace validation and approvals , including product and process validation in compliance withCQI‑9 guidelines . Provide ongoingtechnical guidance and continuous improvement feedbackto cross‑functional teams including Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s Degree (B.Tech) in Metallurgy Minimum 15 years of relevant professional experiencein metallurgical operations, preferably within thebearing or automotive manufacturing industry . Functional Skills Basic Metallurgy for steel, cast Iron, ferrous and non ferrous materials Various heat treatment process applicable. Testing and Inspection methodologies according to National / International standards. Knowledge of National / International Standards and equivalence for Raw materials Heat treatment process knowledge according to CQI 9 Guidelines New process and product technology development roadmaps Metallurgical advance techniques for evaluations knowledge and hands on experience NDT testing level 2 certified for MPI,ECT, UT . Knowledge and know how of SEM -EDS , XRD techniques Key Competencies Stronghands‑on metallurgical knowledgewith practical application in the bearing industry. Proven experience as ateam leader , capable of building and guiding high‑performing teams. Ability tolead cross‑functional teamsand collaborate effectively across departments. Excellentcommunication and stakeholder management skills . Strongcustomer interface capability , with the ability to address and resolve technical issues and drive customer confidence.
