Mathematics Content Writer (Secondary)Location: IndiaAbout the RoleLearningmate is seeking a skilled Secondary Math Content Writer to develop engaging, standards-aligned student materials for Grades 6–12 mathematics.This role requires deep knowledge of U.S. secondary math instruction and content standards, with strong preference for experience with Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS). The ideal candidate understands the progression of mathematical concepts across middle and high school, can design instructionally sound practice and activity materials, and writes with clarity and precision for adolescent learners.This is a hands-on content development role operating within fast-paced production cycles. Writers must be comfortable drafting, revising, and refining materials based on internal and client feedback while maintaining strict alignment to standards and mathematical accuracy.Key ResponsibilitiesContent DevelopmentWrite clear, accurate, and standards-aligned student-facing materials for Grades 6–12 math, including:Teacher presentation materials and teacher guidancePractice sets and problem banksStructured activity sheetsScaffolded worked examplesGraphic organizers (e.g., problem-solving frameworks)Retrieval and spiral review resourcesVocabulary supports and reference toolsDevelop problems and tasks that reflect grade-level rigor, depth of knowledge, and assessment expectations.Ensure mathematical precision, appropriate notation, and conceptual clarity.Translate lesson objectives and standards into coherent, student-friendly instructional artifacts.Standards AlignmentAlign all materials to U.S. secondary math standards (state-specific standards).Demonstrate strong familiarity with TEKS for Grades 6–12, including readiness standards and assessment emphasis (preferred).Ensure vertical coherence across grade bands (e.g., proportional reasoning → linear relationships → functions → algebraic modeling).Design & UsabilityApply clean, well-structured layouts using templates and basic formatting tools (no advanced design software required).Organize content to support logical problem-solving and mathematical reasoning.Maintain consistency with style, branding, and formatting guidelines.Revision & Quality ImprovementRevise content based on editorial, curriculum, and client feedback.Conduct self-review for mathematical accuracy, clarity, and standards alignment.Incorporate feedback efficiently while meeting tight production deadlines.Collaboration & WorkflowPartner with instructional designers, editors, and specialists to ensure materials align with broader curriculum architecture.Manage multiple assignments and revision cycles within defined timelines.QualificationsMinimum RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a closely related field.Demonstrated knowledge of U.S. secondary mathematics standards (Grades 6–12).Strong understanding of middle school and high school math content, including topics such as:Ratios and proportional reasoningExpressions and equationsLinear relationships and systemsFunctionsGeometryStatistics and probabilityAlgebra I & II conceptsExceptional fluency in English with strong instructional writing skills.Experience creating math instructional materials or assessments.High level of mathematical accuracy and attention to detail.Comfort working in fast-paced environments with iterative revisions.Preferred ExperienceDirect experience working with Texas TEKS standards (Grades 6–12).Experience writing for a curriculum publisher, edtech company, or school district.Secondary math classroom teaching experience.Familiarity with state assessments (e.g., STAAR or similar).Experience working in Teams or similar collaborative platforms.Understanding of accessibility and readability considerations in math materials.Key CompetenciesStrong mathematical content expertiseDeep understanding of secondary math progression and rigorPrecision and accuracy in problem writingAbility to translate standards into high-quality student tasksClear and structured instructional writingResponsiveness to feedbackTime management in rapid production cyclesThoughtful use of AI tools to enhance efficiency while maintaining qualityInterested candidates please share your updated resume on .Thanks & Regards,Neelam FernandesHR Team - Mumbai
