Title: Business Development Manager / Executive – Domestic Markets Location: Mumbai Experience: 5 - 10 years of experience Industry: Pharmaceutical Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and result-oriented Business Development Manager to drive domestic market growth for our pharmaceutical business. The ideal candidate will have relevant experience in the Indian pharma market, strong relationships with purchase managers and key decision-makers, and proven expertise in end-to-end implementation of business development strategies. Key responsibilities: 1. Business Development & Revenue Growth - Identify and develop new business opportunities in the domestic pharmaceutical market. - Drive revenue growth by expanding market presence across hospitals, institutions, distributors, and trade channels. - Develop and execute strategic business plans aligned with company objectives. - Achieve sales targets and profitability goals. 2. Relationship Management - Leverage existing network of purchase managers, procurement heads, hospital administrators, and distributors. - Build and maintain long-term relationships with key accounts and institutional buyers. - Lead negotiations for pricing, contracts, and supply agreements. 3. Market Expansion & Strategy Execution - Conduct market research to identify new territories, products, and segments. - Analyze competitor activities and market trends to refine business strategy. - Ensure end-to-end implementation of business strategies—from opportunity identification to closure and post-sales follow-up. - Coordinate with marketing, regulatory, supply chain, and finance teams for smooth execution. 4. Institutional & Tender Business - Identify and participate in institutional and government tenders. - Prepare and submit techno-commercial proposals. - Ensure compliance with regulatory and documentation requirements. 5. Reporting & MIS - Prepare regular sales forecasts, pipeline reports, and business performance reviews. - Track KPIs and provide actionable insights to senior management. Skills and Educational Qualifications required: - Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy / Life Sciences / Business Administration (MBA preferred). - 5–10 years of experience in business development within the domestic pharmaceutical market. - Strong network of purchase managers, hospital procurement teams, distributors, and institutional buyers. - Proven track record of achieving revenue targets and driving growth. - Experience handling institutional sales and tender processes preferred. - Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills. - Strategic thinking with strong execution capabilities. - Willingness to travel within India as required.
