Job Description

General Manager, Business Development and Projects Job Purpose The role holder is responsible for identifying, negotiating & managing end to end execution of new Green field schools including managing project team in India. Also the role holder has to manage M&A opportunities in India. Key Resposibilities Functional Position Summary: The BD and Project head will work towards enhancing the brand and revenue, building geographical expansion initiatives across India. This individual will be responsible for: 1. identifying potential green field opportunities, 2. Building strategic partnerships with current external stake holders also build new relations with stake holders. 3. Manage potential M&A opportunities in India, and 4. establishing a strong operational framework for replication. The ideal candidate should be dynamic and multilingual with a strong background in Real Estate, sales, and stakeholder engagement. - Support the Growth & Investments department through deal origination of school transactions in India. - Develop and execute the school’s expansion strategy. - Identify and pursue of potential school/ school group acquisitions in the target geographies. - Lead the new market entry strategy for multiple brands of the Group. - Support the underwriting of investment business plan and board presentations. - Developing and executing market entry strategies, financing and tax structures and partnerships for the group. - Originate and evaluate Green field opportunities pipeline in the India. - Build and maintain network of financial, real-estate and M&A advisors. - Present findings and pitch investment opportunities during Steering Committee discussions - Support the financial and other due diligences on M&A prospects. - Coordinate with internal GSG teams until completion of the acquisitions and ensure smooth deal closure. - Collaborate with Integration teams post-deal closure to ensure smooth transfer of relationships to integration managers as well as the relevant Finance and Operations teams. - Establishing a strong operational framework for replication. - Manage Project team in the country to ensure smooth delivery of each School projects in the country Interaction - Maintain and lead relationships with real estate brokerage firms and direct their engagement. - Maintain and lead relationships with potential real estate partners and Bankers. - Maintain and lead relationships with prospective sellers of schools/ school groups. - Maintain post-acquisition relationship with sellers. - Direct outside advisors and consultants when required. Must be able to prepare scope of work and negotiate rates with them. - Building and maintaining productive relationships with our target companies and related network. Key Skills/ Competencies - Able to quickly understand the business, its key drivers, and issues. - Comfortable with conducting both primary (interviews, surveys) and secondary (desk-based) market research. - Strong competencies in valuation, due diligence, as well as a strong working knowledge of accounting. - Excellent deal structuring skills, being able to help arrange appropriate transaction financing through on-the-ground financing partners. - Strong problem solver - Possess a high level of integrity. - Collaborative – able to lead deliverables and collaborate across the team. - Ability to manage multiple tasks and manage and lead a team. - Independent ownership of projects and deliverables is a pre-requisite. - Possess outstanding interpersonal and communication skills and have the confidence to liaise with executive management team. Job Requirements Minimum Qualifications MBA from leading business school; Preferably possess a specialisation in Marketing, RE or Finance Experience - Must have experience of dealing and negotiating with consulting & advisory firms. - Experience of working with and managing the expectations of a diverse range of stakeholders. - Outstanding record of achievement enhancing a brand and revenue through expansions. - Multilingual (preferably English, Hindi) - Postgraduate degree in Marketing / Business Administration / Education Management - Minimum 10–15 years of experience in Real Estate ,business development, or educational sales - Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills - Experience working with and establishing chain of schools will add value. - Entrepreneurial mindset with high levels of ownership and accountability - Willingness to travel frequently.. Working Days - 5.5 days a week - On-site Compensation: Competitive and commensurate with experience, includes performance-based incentives
