Hands-on New Product Introduction (NPI) experience establishing and ramping up FATP production lines for new products. Proven ability to set up manufacturing lines from initial concept through volume production. Deep knowledge of DFX principles – particularly Design for Assembly (DFA) and Design for Test (DFT) – to ensure product designs are optimized for efficient assembly, testing, serviceability, and high yield. Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies (5S, Six Sigma, Lean) to streamline assembly operations, reduce defects, and improve throughput and quality. Demonstrated experience using data-driven approaches (e.g. 8D, FMEA, DOE) to perform root cause analysis and implement process improvements for higher yield and efficiency. Strong understanding of supply chain management and component procurement in a high-volume electronics production environment. Tool Skills Proficiency in project management and productivity tools Excel/Google Sheets for budgeting and data analytics (ability to create KPI dashboards) High proficiency in standard MS Office software for reporting Special Requirements Domain expertise in EMS or high-volume electronics production. Willingness to travel for customer meetings or supplier visits as needed. Ability to coordinate with global teams across time zones when required. Soft Skills Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Strong leadership and team coordination capabilities to drive cross-functional teams Problem-solving aptitude and decisiveness to address technical and logistical challenges promptly Customer focus with the ability to build trust and long-term relationships. High adaptability, a proactive approach, and the capacity to work under tight deadlines Job Description Plan and set up new Final Assembly, Test & Pack (FATP) production lines for new products or business expansion, transforming customer and product requirements into effective final assembly, testing, and packaging solutions. Ensure factory readiness for NPI builds and eventual mass production of new products. Oversee projects from initial proposal and process design through line installation and qualification, making sure each FATP line is engineered for optimum quality output, target throughput (UPH), cost-efficiency, and on-time launch. Drive adherence to project schedules, budgets, and deliverables at each stage of line setup. Work closely with internal teams (design engineering, manufacturing/process engineering, quality, supply chain) and customers to refine assembly and test processes. Ensure all necessary documentation (work instructions, SOPs) and safety/ESD procedures are developed. Provide ongoing production support and communication between the factory and customer or product development teams to facilitate issue resolution and continuous feedback during ramp-up Responsibilities Collaborate with Business Development and Program Management to clarify project requirements and design FATP line setups (including final assembly process flow and test strategy) tailored to new product needs. Defining key production steps, identifying needed stations for assembly and testing, and ensuring alignment with product specifications and quality targets. Specify required FATP equipment – such as assembly fixtures, tools, test stations, and packaging apparatus – along with estimates of line throughput (UPH), manpower needs, and optimal layout. Establish detailed final assembly process flows and test plans. Set process parameters and program automated assembly machines or configure test software as required. Ensure the design or sourcing of custom jigs, fixtures, and tooling for unique assembly or test requirements. Conduct pilot builds and trial runs to validate FATP processes, monitoring product yield, cycle times, and quality metrics. Coordinate across departments to ensure production readiness. Oversee initial production ramp-up, closely monitoring FATP line performance against yield and UPH targets.
