As part of our growth strategy, we are seeking an experienced Light Cargo Sales Manager – Africa to drive sanitary ware sales through light cargo distribution channels across multiple African markets.Role PurposeThe Light Cargo Sales Manager – Africa will be responsible for leading, managing, and expanding sanitary ware sales operations focused on light cargo shipments across Africa. Based in Johannesburg, this role requires a commercially driven professional with strong experience in sales leadership, logistics coordination, and regional market development.Key Duties & Responsibilities1. Sales Leadership & Team ManagementLead and manage the Africa light cargo sanitary ware sales team to achieve and exceed regional sales targets.Set clear KPIs, sales objectives, and performance expectations for team members.Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback.Foster a collaborative, results-driven, and professional sales culture.2. Market Research & Business DevelopmentConduct in-depth market research to identify new business opportunities and growth markets across Africa.Monitor competitor activities, pricing strategies, and product offerings.Identify underserved markets and propose practical market entry and expansion strategies.3. Sales Strategy & Policy DevelopmentCollaborate with senior management to develop and implement sales strategies, policies, and procedures.Recommend pricing models, promotional activities, and incentive schemes to improve profitability.Develop annual and quarterly sales plans aligned with company growth objectives.4. Operations & Logistics CoordinationWork closely with logistics and operations teams to ensure timely, efficient, and cost-effective light cargo deliveries.Monitor cargo movements and delivery performance, addressing issues proactively.Ensure compliance with shipping, customs, and regulatory requirements across African markets.5. Training & Capability DevelopmentOrganize regular product, technical, and customer service training for the sales team.Introduce effective sales techniques and negotiation strategies to improve conversion rates.6. Reporting & Performance MonitoringConduct a minimum of two structured departmental meetings per month to review performance and opportunities.Prepare and submit regular sales reports, forecasts, and market intelligence to senior management.Track individual and team KPIs to ensure alignment with company targets.7. Compliance & Company StandardsEnsure full adherence to company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.Maintain professionalism and compliance in all client engagements and commercial transactions.Education, Skills & Experience RequirementsEducationBachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales & Marketing, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.Additional training in sales leadership, logistics, or international trade is an advantage.ExperienceMinimum 5 years’ proven experience in cargo sales, logistics, transportation, or distribution management.Experience within sanitary ware, building materials, FMCG, or related industries is preferred.Demonstrated experience managing multi-country or regional sales operations within Africa.Strong track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.Key SkillsStrong leadership and people management skillsCommercial and analytical mindsetExcellent communication and negotiation abilitiesAbility to work effectively across diverse African marketsWillingness to travel within the region as required
