This will raise our profile and build influence with key stakeholders and support fundraising. Sense India has a growing communications and fundraising team. The post holder will be an important member of this team and also work closely with other team members (and consultants) who specialise in communication and fundraising across platforms, channels and formats.Key Responsibilities:Lead the design and execution of Sense India’s national donor acquisition strategy, with a primary focus on scaling Individual Giving through Tele-calling (SITC units) and external agencies.Set city-wise and channel-wise acquisition targets (new donors, revenue, cost per donor) aligned with the organisation’s annual fundraising plan.Build and manage the acquisition funnel – lead generation, conversion, average gift size, and early-stage retention.Ensure a continuous pipeline of new donors across major tier 1 and tier 2 cities through processes such as tele-calling, lead generation Campaign-based acquisition, and agency-driven acquisition.Lead the establishment and scaling of new SITC units in Delhi and Mumbai, including setup, recruitment of donor care teams, onboarding, induction, process implementation and monitoring.Develop city-specific acquisition plans with monthly targets.Ensure each new city reaches operational breakeven within a defined timeline through performance tracking and cost control.Strengthen the performance of existing fundraising units in Bangalore and Ahmedabad.Recruit, train and manage donor acquisition teams across all cities.Design acquisition-linked early retention strategies (0–12 months donor lifecycle)Lead donor acquisition tracking through Salesforce, ensuring data hygiene, donor segmentation, source tracking and working on performance dashboardsAct as a strategic contributor to the overall fundraising strategy and annual planning.Undertake donor management and reporting – coordinate with internal teams for data and insights, track and write donor reports, send regular updates to donors, facilitate field visits.Attend one to one donor meetings and increase donation size to support overall performance of the team Participate in outreach activities at malls, tech parks, clubs, associations, residential communities, and other locations to build and expand the donor database.General Manage enquiries and requests for information by the public in relation to Sense India’s work and direct to the appropriate department. Work within agreed income and expenditure budgets, being accountable for all spending within agreed areas of operation.Work with senior team to help improve internal communications so that staff feel valued, understand their role within the organisation and are inspired to be the best they can be within it.Carry out other duties within the scope, spirit and purpose of the post as requested by the line manager. Person SpecificationPostgraduate qualification in Management (MBA / PGDBM / MS). Graduates with substantial and relevant experience in Individual Fundraising or Business Development or Sales will also be considered.Minimum 5 years’ experience in a comparable role within NGOs / INGOs / Media/ Corporate sales, with demonstrated responsibility for revenue generation and team management.Prior experience managing city-level Individual Fundraising operations and leading acquisition teams will be strongly preferred.Proven track record of meeting and exceeding income and donor acquisition targets in a high-performance, target-driven environment.Strong commercial and results-oriented mindset, with the ability to translate strategy into operational execution and measurable outcomes.Demonstrated ability to recruit, lead and motivate teams, including internal staff and external agency partners.Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively with internal teams, senior leadership, external fundraising agencies, donors and partners.Ability to build and sustain a performance culture in geographically distributed teams.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate Sense India’s mission, programmes and impact clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences.Strong presentation and influencing skills, with confidence in donor-facing and partner-facing environments.Fluency in spoken and written English is essential; proficiency in any Indian regional language will be considered an asset.Strong planning and organisational skills, with close attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.High level of numerical and analytical capability, with strong working knowledge of MS Excel and reporting tools.Experience using Donor Management Systems (e.g. Salesforce) and tele-calling software to manage pipelines, segmentation and performance reporting.Demonstrated experience in Individual Fundraising, including donor acquisition, retention and management, and working with external agencies and outsourced resources.Prior experience in fundraising within the development sector is desirable.Background in business development or sales in consulting or commercial sectors will be valued as a complementary skill set.High levels of initiative and self-motivation, with the ability to work independently and proactively in a fast-paced environment.Resilient and adaptable, with the ability to operate effectively under pressure and in situations of ambiguity or change.Strong alignment with Sense India’s vision and values, with demonstrated passion for social impact and inclusion.This is not intended to be an exhaustive list.
