The role involves reviewing and analyzing patient medical records to assign accurate medical codes for diagnoses, procedures, and services. The Certified Medical Coder & Biller will ensure compliance with regulatory standards, maintain accurate billing records, and collaborate with healthcare professionals to clarify documentation and coding practices.QualificationsMANDATORY: Experience in Family Practice / Internal Medicine / WoundCare clinicsProficiency in Medical Coding, including a strong understanding of coding systems such as ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCSKnowledge of Medical Terminology and Health Information Management practicesCertifications such as RHIT or equivalent, demonstrating expertise in medical coding and billingExperience in coding within healthcare or clinical environmentsAttention to detail, accuracy, and a thorough understanding of insurance and billing processesStrong communication and collaboration skills to work with healthcare professionalsAssociate’s degree in Health Information Management or a related field is preferredFamiliarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems and other relevant healthcare software is a plus
