You will be expected to do the following:Good knowledge about the UAE VAT Laws and Regulations including guidance notes and circulars issued by FTA.Assist the VAT Manager in providing VAT support and advice to business finance teams in UAE on various transactions.Support VAT reviews and health-checks conducted as per UAE VAT laws and regulations, helping to identify risks and exposures and manage their resolution by the finance teams.Assist the VAT Manager in advising management on VAT implications related to new business initiatives or restructuring activities.Support in drafting and/or reviewing Agreements.Assist in developing strategies to minimise VAT exposure and ensure complianceSupport in preparation / review of VAT filings in UAE prior to submission to Tax Authorities.Ensure that adjustment to VAT returns are reflected by finance teams in books of accounts.Liaise with internal stakeholders to address tax-related issues and support tax compliance procedures.Assist VAT manager in managing tax assessments conducted by FTA.Prepare submissions to FTA such as reconsideration letters, tax assessment responses, etc.Support the central tax team in managing and monitoring various projects such as implementation of UAE e-invoicing for the firm, IT system implementation projects from a VAT compliance and governance perspective.Demonstrate good understanding of project management.Maintain a tracker of system issues and monitor repetition of issues.Assist in periodic review and update on group tax policy, compliance checklists and SOPs.Regular monitoring and updating of tax risk register and ensuring addressal of risks by relevant teams.Assist in monitoring the tax compliance trackers.Regular monitoring of tax registration records of group entities in UAE and ensuring updating them.Collaborate with other departments to develop and implement tax compliance controls.Help create VAT awareness and support training initiatives within finance teams.Monitor VAT regulatory developments and assist in communicating impacts to finance teams.Desired qualificationsBachelor’s in finance with a minimum of 3+ years (with at least 2+ years working on UAE VAT).TaxationGood Technical KnowledgeClarity of ConceptsTeam PlayerEffective communication and presentation skillsPersistent and persuasive Location and way of workingBase location: BangaloreThis profile involves frequent travelling to client locationsHybrid is our default way of working.
