Job DescriptionContract Lead – Roads & HighwaysProject Site / Corporate Office (as applicable)Location- PuneSalary - NegotiableRole PurposeThe Contract Specialist will be responsible for contract administration, claims management, variation handling, and commercial risk mitigation for EPC, PPP (HAM/BOT), and PPI road & highway infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with contractual, statutory, and financial requirements throughout the project lifecycle.Key ResponsibilitiesManage and administer contracts for EPC, PPP (HAM/BOT), and PPI highway projects from award to closure.Interpret contract documents including Concession Agreements, EPC Contracts, FIDIC-based contracts, MoRTH/NHAI contracts.Ensure compliance with contract conditions, obligations, and timelines.Maintain contract correspondence, records, and contractual registersIdentify contractual risks, claims, and entitlement opportunities.Prepare, review, and submit Extension of Time (EOT), cost claims, and variation claims.Support dispute resolution through DRB/DAB, arbitration, or amicable settlementReview and process Variation Orders (VOs) and change requests.Evaluate commercial impact of design changes, scope additions, and statutory changes.Coordinate with engineering, planning, and billing teams for valuation of variations.Support preparation and certification of RA bills, milestone payments, and final bills.Coordinate with client, engineer, and internal teams for bill approvals.Review subcontractor and vendor contracts, claims, and bills.Review and administer Concession Agreements.Ensure compliance with Authority requirements (NHAI / State Authorities).Identify commercial and contractual risks and propose mitigation strategies.Ensure compliance with statutory, insurance, performance security, and guarantee requirements.Support audits, lender reviews, and internal commercial reviews.RequirementBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering 12-18 years of experience in contracts & commercial managementMandatory experience in road/highway infrastructure projectsHands-on exposure to EPC, PPP (HAM/BOT), and/or PPI modelsStrong knowledge of MoRTH, NHAI & FIDIC contract conditionsClaims preparation & contractual interpretationNegotiation & stakeholder managementCommercial acumen & risk assessment
