The ideal candidate will have 4-6 years of software development experience with 2+ years focused on Apache Kafka, expert-level knowledge of the Kafka ecosystem including Kafka Streams, Connect, and Schema Registry, and proficiency in Java or Scala for developing Kafka applications. Key responsibilities include designing robust Kafka-based streaming architectures, building real-time data pipelines, developing custom connectors, optimizing cluster performance for high throughput and low latency, implementing monitoring and alerting solutions, and establishing best practices for topic design and security measures. Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering, proven experience with large-scale Kafka deployments in production, strong understanding of distributed systems and event-driven architectures, experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms, knowledge of data serialization formats (Avro, Protobuf, JSON), and familiarity with monitoring tools and database systems. Preferred qualifications include Confluent certifications, experience with stream processing frameworks like Apache Flink or Spark Streaming, knowledge of microservices architecture, and experience in high-volume transaction environments.
