Job Description Job Description – Photographer & Videographer Bloomingdale International School Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and creative Photographer & Videographer to capture and document the life of our school community. The role involves covering daily student activities, academic and co-curricular events, thematic shoots, and creating engaging visual content for both internal and external communications. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, artistic vision, and the ability to connect with students, staff, and parents to create authentic and impactful visuals. Reports to: Head of School (HOS) Technical Reporting: Operations Manager, Central Office Experience: Minimum 2–4 years of professional photography/videography experience, preferably in a reputed educational institution. Proven portfolio of school events, portraits, and creative projects is desirable. Qualifications: Graduate in any stream. Prior experience as a Photographer/Videographer in a school environment is highly preferred. Key Skills: Proficiency in DSLR/mirrorless cameras, video equipment, and editing software (Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, etc.). Strong sense of creativity, composition, lighting, and visual storytelling . Excellent communication and interpersonal skills , with sensitivity to working with children. Ability to manage time, organize archives, and work under deadlines . Strong sense of responsibility in handling sensitive student data and images. Roles & Responsibilities: Photography & Videography Capture key school events : annual functions, sports day, cultural programs, workshops, and graduation ceremonies. Document daily school life : classroom learning, labs, sports, and extracurricular activities. Take professional portraits for student/staff ID cards, yearbooks, and directories. Photograph class groups, staff groups, and achievements . Provide visuals for brochures, newsletters, social media, website, and admission campaigns . Capture infrastructure and facilities for promotional purposes. Plan and execute thematic and creative shoots for festivals, celebrations, and campaigns. Support the marketing team by creating social media-ready photos and short videos. Assist in creating short promotional videos for events, campaigns, and classroom activities. Operational Responsibilities Arrive early to events, set up equipment, and ensure readiness for key moments. Maintain and safeguard all photography and videography equipment. Organize and archive digital content systematically for easy access. Ensure timely delivery of edited images/videos for school communication. Protect sensitive content, respecting school policies for student privacy and media sharing. Provide basic photography training to students as part of co-curricular clubs/activities. Coordinate with teachers, event organizers, and admin staff to plan shoots effectively. Additional Expectations: Ensure a happy and comfortable environment while photographing students, motivating them and parents to create memorable moments. Uphold the school’s values and child sensitivity norms while capturing visuals. Be proactive, reliable, and adaptable to changing school schedules and requirements.
